In hindsight landing in Gravesend was maybe not the best idea but the SAR team had only been gone ten minutes and the little bu**ers already had the doors off and a pile of bricks ready for the wheels.

or

In another cost cutting initiative the engineers from 'Gary's AutoClinic and Secondhand Mazda Sales' took over the 50 hour servicing schedule.

It was too late when OC 848 Sqn FAA realised that the winning tender for Sea King major servicing was provided by the Birkenhead Bricklayers Co, so he decided to relax and enjoy the view instead.

The search for the "golden rivet" was going quite well.

"'Ang on, lads, maybe we don't 'ave to climb over it. I think I've found a way through to the other side..."

Boy Scout Troop F work on their Helicopter Maintenance and Personal Grooming merit badges.

Having read on PPRuNe about the FJ Pilot who mooned a lady from the cockpit and later got lucky with her, the lads had been trying the same. Somehow, it didn't seem to be working quite as well in the hangar.

initiative was everything and the fact that there were no spanner belts meant that the engineers went back to the old fashioned "Toolgrip" to keep their wrench within reach

Everybody supported the push for closer ties with community youth groups but maybe this
was taking 'bob-a-job' too far

or

Amidst claims that the military was ‘going soft’ on new recruits it didn’t help that Basic Instructor Jones took the assault course inside because it was raining.

or

Grimethorpe Polytechnic’s HND Craft, Design & Technology Module was going better than expected however, in the absence of jet engines, a big question mark was hanging over the suitability of the two 3.0 ltr Ford Capri power plants purchased from the local breaker.

The photographer realised with a sigh that the RAF Calendar Boys 2006 were not going to cut the mustard.
Though one had just cut the cheese!

As he stood with his squad in the pre-dawn light, kit all polished and ready for 2 hours of drill, LAC Gruntfuttuck remembered the fateful day, some two weeks of early morning drill ago.
Oh, it had seemed like such a good idea at the time when Lumpy had suggested it. "Let's go to work in our shreddies, and when the boss sees that we don't have the proper gear, we'll be the first to get some of the new CS95 kit."
And how strange that Lumpy, having taken the photo, had been mysteriously absent when OC Eng showed up.

Lowest guy shouts: " Chief - I have found a few cracks around the fuselage - do you want me to stop drill 'em?"

Chief replies: "Crack on - but take your time with the drill; you could have someones eye out if you're not careful!!"

If you look at the open doors at the front of the aircraft carefully - it looks a bit like an ar5e crack!

Even the helicopter got into the spirit for the Arses of the Armed Forces poster. Unfortunately, due to its ignorance of all things organic, it erroneously chose "The Babboon".

A page from the latest calendar spread...or should that be spread calendar.

Oddly, the pilot had only mentioned in passing that he had mislaid his wallet.

or

However thorough their search, it would have been so much easier had they first glanced at the tail and realised that X marks the spot.
