Military Aviation A forum for the professionals who fly military hardware. Also for the backroom boys and girls who support the flying and maintain the equipment, and without whom nothing would ever leave the ground. All armies, navies and air forces of the world equally welcome here.

As I shall be Otherwise Engaged for a while, here are a few to be going on with (and also to forestall anybody else with the same ideas):

"It's hereditary - my Dad was an @rse-end Charlie !"

"And a quarter turn to lock ?"

"What are those two aeroplanes doing, Mummy?........"Well, darling, the first one is blind, you see, and his friend is pushing him to St.Dunstan's
" (pace Ivor Novello and the RNIB).

"" 'oo are you shovin' - watch it, mate !"

"Another fine mess you've gotten me into, Hoskins !"

"It's called "Maximising Runway Utilisation - since we can't afford a new runway!

Chris Evan's new feature for the next series of Top Gear, a "Star in a Reasonably Priced Aeroplane", did not get off the ground...literally.

"Remember, Smithers, the flight's not over until you're parked up, the engine's shut down, the fuel and electrics are off, and the park brake is set."

"Well, I've done all that, Sir, but we still seem to be moving..."

When initially announced, the merger of Piper and Stinson had been badly misunderstood by some.

No Hoskins, there is no "bright side". This does NOT qualify you for a Centre Line Thrust endorsement.

Hoskins....in this case you managed to catch up with the aircraft just in time for the Crash instead of your usual half hour lagging behind.

Leaning heavily on Danny42C, so I disqualify myself:

Yes, the technique for Maximising Runway Utilisation works, but only if both aircraft are landing or taking off. This is what happens in mixed mode.
