It looks to me like a hold pool is being built up here. Someone mentioned a 'reserve list' earlier - inside info? |

Negative response
I was told over the phone "not successful" a week after assessment day. An email followed that up. I was asked to reapply July next year. No reason given and I thought I did Ok, but I told them I needed 100% contract and a local base so maybe that did it for them!

Anyone heard any more about jet2 issuing the contracts for the mid oct people who'd been called last week and offered something?
Think they were meant to be posted out last week, has anyone received anything yet or heard more about when they will be issued? Talk of HR approval and a couple of issues around some of the contract details that needed signed off from above.............. |

TLBird the vintage that Astraeus use is mostly in icelandic use they have a couple flying around and about I believe their 500 was flying out of BOH during the summer for Bath travel/Palmair. The agency listing is for J2 as I have a colleague pursuing that avenue.
As I believe someone has already said it is not a 70% contract and not employed by J2 but instead a self employment contract for the summer months on 100% pay. When I spoke to HR midweek they indicated these contracts were waiting to be signed off and supposedly were being sent out in a couple of days. Hope this is the case as I am putting off declining another offer subject to their paperwork arriving. |

The longer things are drawn out from the mid-October interviews and another batch of already type rated happening this week, I reckon they'll reassess and compile a new list. This will undoubtedly push some out who would have initially been given the thumbs up.
And no, no call as yet or to anyone I exchanged my details with on the day. |

I am sure I have said before that I belive it is working on a sliding scale with "cadets" paying the full whack to experienced TR paying nothing and only having a small line training bond; and then all stations between for others. Regards |
Type rated and experienced pilots were interviewed on Thursday (11th). Mixed nationalities, some crew there from Viking. About 10 candidates present. Presentation was good. Interviewers were pleasant and seemed happy enough. It was certainly at odds with all the horrendous reports that abound on Pprune.
It appeared that certainly 20, and maybe 40, were interviewed that day!! :eek: Don't know how many vacancies there are? :confused: No timescale was mentioned for either start dates or even interview results. Don't know what else to say. I'm waiting to see if I was successful. I gather there is another stage to go yet. If offered a place I believe you are then subjected to online testing to further whittle down the numbers. :ugh: Oh well, I'm not going to pester them. I need a job like everybody else but am getting fed up of the struggle............. Online testing after doing the job already for 15 years?? :\ If i'm lucky I will be successful. If not I think it's time to file away the flying papers and go back to my previous discipline. Best of luck to everybody. :ok: |

I haven't been following this thread since the beginning...could someone tell me if they're hiring non type-rated first officers with low time experience? I applied online quite a while back but haven't heard of anything since...

I'm sure Jet2 are desperate for that profile. As, of course, are all airlines.
It's a very tough industry right now, but even at the best of times, a combination such as yours will need serious luck. Not just enquiries. Sorry to be the early Xmas grinch. |
A small number of low time non type-rated have been taken on, as you might imagine the list of applicants for those spots was a very long one.

Jet2 recruited 12 low houred inexperienced non TR guys and girls who are now all undergoing there TR training. There are real difficulties in line training inexperienced guys, each requires 44 sectors each ie 528 sectors for just 12 people. For a still smallish airline over the quiet winter period this is hard as they also have to keep their present crew employed and current. I don't think they will be recruiting any more "cadets" real soon. Its only an opinion and not based on any facts, things also change very quickly in the airline industry. Does anyone have an email address or telephone number to jet2 to help address technical difficulties with the online application.
or can anyone help with the below On behalf of a friend of mine who is not an IT expert. He half completed the direct entry experienced FO 757 application some time ago but did not submit it as a formal application. Having seen the advert in the back of flight last week he decided to log back in and submit his details. However, the system says his application has expired and should reapply. When he tries to re-register, the system says that his details already exist and cannot re-register, (if that makes sense). So he just goes round in circles. The jet2 application does not have a technical assistance link that i can see. Any advice or a contact email welcome. |
Get him to try and register again but using a different email address. Jet2 have had some serious IT issues with their application system, so much so that they had to delete several hundred previous applications.

TL Bird: quite correct, and of course, Titan Airways, although both those airlines have the classic in small numbers whereas BMI Baby and Jet Two have them in larger numbers.

Are jet2 offering summer only contracts? I was told at the interview that it would either be 70% or 100% (the latter being unlikely) but with the two year bond. Aren't the six month contracts through zenon? I expect they will try to argue that the costs are the same at the start of a six month contract so it will be 4.5k over six months. That's just a guess though. |

Some details from Zenon.
Starts in April and May for Manchester and Leeds bases. The contract runs until October. There is possibility of being offered permanent employment on completion of the contract. FO salary £2977 per month with a loyalty bonus on completion of the whole contract of £340 per month. Duty pay at £2.10 per hour (but I'm not sure if that's flying hour or duty hour). |

Just finished the online tests. :( Personality profile _ Just answer truthfully I guess. Verbal reasoning _ Just answer the questions after reading carefully. Numerical reasoning _ Nightmare. :uhoh: As if it wasn't bad enough, the telephone ringing three times during the test...................... The numerical questions I felt were overly complicated and required you to understand what was being represented on the charts. Quite frankly, I didn't understand what they were asking me! :confused: I have no idea what "Asset value per share" relates to. As for Car engine sizes expressing fuel tank quantity in litres in this instance, even though it's listed in gallons.......... Gibberish. I have spent 15 years calculating fuel quantities and interpolating performance charts and graphs and have never had a problem. Passed my 737 tech course with a 100% pass. Have spent the previous 20 years performing electronics calculations without so much as breaking a sweat. However..... ask me about asset values and shares and sorry... :* IMHO the tests were not relevant as you can hardly answer the question if you don't understand what you are being asked. I completed the practice test without trouble (on several sites) but the real SHL test bore no resemblance. Oh well. After a good assessment, best plan for a quiet Christmas and a lean new year. Who else is recruiting????......... :sad: Cheers. |

No bond was mentioned to me.
Must say though, I didn't ask. I've read somewhere that there is a bond for line training or similar. Don't know whether this applies to contract pilots though. :confused: Regards. |
