"If they change the roster to 5/3 then that demands an entire renegotiation of the base Agreement."
Not for Brookfield contract !!! The 5/4 is a guideline in an annex of the contract !
And I do not know any Brookfield guy in my base who has already been allocated the 10 days A/L while the Ryanair guys do have their dates.
Hence my worries about what is about to come soon for Broofield contractors...

If the roster went to 5/3 I would resign in a heartbeat. We are being shat on from a great height, changing the roster would be the final nail in the coffin for many Captains. I really hope the new government in Ireland enforce the mandatory union rules for employers. I am not one for screwing the company, I just want to be treated with a little more respect.

Keep in mind we're in March now Zerotohero. It's not uncommon for rosters to fluctuate in the last month of the flying year. Have you had a look at your duty plan to see how much hours you did april (thanks vjw)to March?

Somebody in the position to do so (STN based TREs) should tell PB to hire 3000/4000 hours FOs instead of cadets only, cause the problem is much earlier than in 3 years time when they are even ready to think about upgrade!
Lots of EXs could be willing to come back from ****ty places, believe it or not!
Outside is great, but not so great.

FR to close LPA already??
Saw this on a Spanish news website. Apparently there has been some disagreement with a computer system?? All a bit vague. (It's in Spanish)

yet one more....
I don't like spreading rumors, so instead, here is hard facts from a SMALL base somewhere in the network.
3 Senior FO's are going, 2 for EK and 1 remain in Europe.
Another 2 1700ish FO's are looking around for greener grass.
2 are leaving due to problems with commuting
1 just completely fed up with Ryanair
and other 2 mix of 5/3, management etc.
1 of these 5 have resigned, other 2 will very soon and 2 when they find green grass.
Think the summer will be very very interesting.

I am also now actively seeking employment elsewhere, took a hard look at my finances and how much I am spending commuting and the tax now due and decided its not all that good a contract, and I am on the old BRK one, so I am on my days off now and will be spending the days applying to other places further afield for a complete change of scene.
FYI i am 2800 Hours F/O with 2200 737-800RYR

And if he leaves with 500 hours on type what use are they after say one year in EK/BA/EY etc?
All contracts/jobs want currency within the past year/6 months, therefore the quicker he escapes the better, if that is eventually what his plans are?

The article refers to a new computer system that is causing problems for Spanish airports and AENA. If it is sorted soon thrn MO is threatening to close the base at Gran Canaria. I assume it is Gran Canaria, the article refers to it as the round island!
