Unless you are getting the 742 sim at a rock bottom rate then why not investigate getting a bit of time in a 744 sim?

A word of advice: If you are planning on going for sim practice before hand please keep it to yourself as I have heard BA recruitment don't like this. Infact a batch of SSP Cadets who practiced at VA before their BA sim check were susequently informed, when they were on their JOC course at CTC, that their BA sim checks were now deemed invalid and they had to succeed, over and above the norm, at JOC in order to be offered a contract (An unnecessary additional pressure!!!!!). I was taken back when I heard about this because in my opinion any one in their right mind is going to give themselves every possible chance of success for an opportunity to get that contract with BA.

Hi Everyone,

I know this has been answered in some form or another along the way but can anyone shed any light as to when you can reapply.

Is it 12 months after inital application? 12 months after selection day or something else altogether?

Someone please help.

Speedbird 1

P.s Well done on the great posts, the info is invaluable.

I emailed BA recruitment and they said that I would be eligible 12 months from the date that I had submitted the online application.

Preparation

Dear comrades,I am invited for the interwiev in May for my second atempt, last in 2005.
I have read through the whole lot on this post and found it quite usefull for the preparation.
For Air France screening you would be able to attend a course or consulting of some sort before attending the interwiev, and they recommend that the candidates attend, and the pass rate are quite high.

Therefore my question are,do anyone offer any consulting in preparation for the BA interwiev ?

Are there anyone willing to share a good method of preparing yourself for the event ?

And what are the best books to get for the studdy, matematics in particular, and what shop to get them in ?

I apreciate any help and any pm if prefered.

I have an interview (day 1 Assessment!!) in the not too distant future and wonder if anyone who has been recently can confirm whether parking is still available for candidates in the Cranebank car park or has anyone had a problem with this? Thanks in anticipation.

The opening question on the online app form is.... Have you applied for this position in the last 11 months????

I applied on the 22nd May last year. I rang recruitment and they confirmed to me that I could apply on the 22nd April this year. Does anyone have any similar experiences???

Re-application

Guys, the answer to this question is buried somewhere in this thread (I'm not going to do the arrogant "if you can't be bothered to find it etc etc" speech) - have a look, it's all there.

However, just to re-cap:

Your second ATTEMPT at the ASSESSMENT DAY has to be AT LEAST 12 months from the previous one.

You CAN apply prior to 12 months, but no sooner than 11 months from your last APPLICATION. So if you did selection on 22 May 07, you can't do it again sooner than 22 May 08: they will check this. Depending on when you applied for the May 07 attempt dictates when you can re-apply. So if you applied in Feb 07, you could apply for another go in Jan 08...but wait until 22 May before attending!

Be careful, it locked me out the 2nd time too, phone call to Recruitment sorted it though (very helpful/efficient but extremely busy also). When you phone them, you will speak to an operator who probably won't be able to sort it there and then, but will refer the case to the actual Recruitment guys. The problem is your application gets 'screened' and they use the Day 1 date of last year as the start of the 11 month period, even though it's not quite correct, and you might find it gets automatically 'binned' - but you do get an email saying it's been binned for that reason: this leaves you having to phone them to get it fixed, but as I said it's not a major problem.

To make it completely hassle-free, you could just wait until 22 Apr 08 (using the above example) before re-applying, but you may just have to wait beyond May before getting a date.

Hope this clears up the confusion, and is useful to those applying. Good luck.

What appears quite obvious about the date of a new application is that no one seems to have a bloody clue, with BA recruitment being most in the dark. They seem to be promulgating, at best, ambiquous advise on rejection email / website and then when asked, are giving one story to one person and a completely different one to the next.

I'm sure if I eventually blag my way in, I will find its actually a really efficient, well run organisation...

Congrats on getting through the interview. I have one in May. As a matter of interest, how long did it take to get your stage 1 results

Regards
