They were landing on 26R at Gatwick from about 11pm on Monday night; no idea if that affects spacing requirements but there was a TUI 787 a little way ahead and several EasyJets had been held a bit earlier ahead of a bit of a rush. Presumably overnight works on 26L.
British Aerospace Hawk Mk167 out of Leeming appeared to providing target practice for a Typhoon, unless it was the other way around? Has the Qatari training unit taken over the duties of 100 Squadron in this respect?

New Spitfire out and about from Biggin this evening, ML295 - looks like a new 2-seater conversion which will be based up at Gamston.
Spicejet 737 VT-SYQ just sailed westwards past the abode, leaving a trail despite only being at 28000'. Enroute Istanbul - Shannon, looks like termination of lease.

I saw a Lufthansa 744 going by yesterday and on checking they have brought a squadron out of storage and they're operating on loads of routes. There can't be too many passenger 744's flying these days.

Lufthansa 744 heading west over London shortly. Assume their A380s are not coming back into service.
No idea, but the A346's are, I think to address business/first class demand on certain routes. Who knows, it would be nice to see the 380's again although the rising cost of fuel might deter such moves.

Looks like it's heading to Brussels. Talks? Or diplomatic expulsions...
Edit: roughly 3000 miles to do a 1000 mile direct flight. Think it is picking up various persona non grata types as Belgium is amongst a number of countries who have expelled Russian Embassy staff in the last week or so for activities not in accordance with their diplomatic status.

Go arounds look as though they were from 08R and eventual landings on on 08L, presumably another swap to allow overnight works on the main drag. Is there a hiatus while they do the swap for some reason?

Almost certainly a long checklist required for ATC/OPS to complete between taking one out of service and introducing the other, lights/nav aids/inspections etc

A group of 3 helicopters passed overhead Solihull, from BHX direction, at around midday (from memory) on Thursday 7th. Not a type I recognised, looked like a cross between a Dauphin and a Wildcat. More like the Dauphin, but in camo colours. Moving fairly slowly. I think i heard them in the opposite direction an hour or so earlier, but didnt see. In any case, they didnt appear on ads-b exchange, so no way to ID them.
Is that enough clues for anyone to ID them?

C17 going round & round Bicester before heading to Weston on the Green presumably to drop bodies by parachute, just to far away to see anything come out ?.

RAF E3 AWACS 13/04/22
Solex01 orbit centered on Marham. I thought they were no longer in service?
