Ah yes, I see now the arrival was much earlier. Circuit heights of around -250' to +500' or so on ADSB Exchange! Shurely shome mishtake...

Shooting a TV commercial apparently, possibly for a car company. Well, it would hardly be for a Spangles advert with the cost of hiring an aircraft ;-)

Does anyone belong to a local spotters group that might have photos ?

I’m sitting in a parking lot, having a Timmies coffee when I noticed a high-wing T-tailed four-jet on a left downwind for Calgary International.

It was about three miles away and my initial thought was “I didn’t think that any BAe146s were still active in this area.”

So I looked it up:

That was a surprise! My first ever Il-76.

Following on. Normally I’m not one to rush to the airport to see aircraft, the last one was a B-52 in the 80s.

However this was special and I had just enough time to get there before sunset.

The icon on FR24 had turned off but based on its initial taxy route, I guessed where it was going. I knew I had got to the right place when I saw 10 cars parked by the fence!

One (at least) of the B-52s has been for an overnight stroll down to the Strait of Gibraltar via a big circular-ish route, just heading back into Fairford...

I recall cracking across to Heathrow early one morning in my first car with a mate to catch up with my first IL-76, or rather two of them - Iraqi Airways examples picking up goodies when Saddam was our friend. Rumour was MD530s but I can't find any evidence they ever had any. We made the trip several more times. Managed to get home in time to change and whizz into work for 9am. We must have been mad, especially as we repeated the stunt several times.

British Airways' A319 in BEA livery (G-EUPJ) is out of retirement and has been to Aberdeen and Edinburgh in the last couple of days. Here she is leaving EDI today.

We used to come down from Teesside on the bus to see those, National express £6 return, bonus drive through Luton airport. Also heard the helicopter rumour and we joked that Flying Tigers supplied both the Iraqi IL76s and the Iranian 747F.

Unidentified aircraft? UFO?

UFO spotted around 7.35 this morning, orange/yellow in colour (could have been silver and been reflecting light from the sunrise) no sound from it, too fast for a military jet! Travelling SW past Haughley, Suffolk, pos towards Mildenhall, very likely past as more Easterly. Got the locals buzzing!

Not use to posting on here, nothing much to see since I joined, hope I posted in the right place and not answering someone! A lot of small private planes here, 2 Spitfires and a Hurricane.too

I've seen many of them, but on a business trip to Vienna, staying at the airport hotel, I opened my room curtains in the morning to find that overnight a Volga-Dniepr IL76 had pulled up there.

Here it is, shot out of my room window. It was surprisingly routing Everett (yes) - Gander - Vienna - Dubai. Crew presumably found Vienna a good place to overnight. Came back in the evening, it was still there, left just before midnight. It was January, and snowing in Vienna, but probably not so in Dubai ... !

Treadi

The previous evening I had not long go ne to bed when i heard a loudish low rumbling sound of something heavy passing over frome. Lots of C17s , A400, c130s around here but the sound was from long long ago and took a long time to fade away. Look on FR24 and Chief 12 B52H has just gone by climbing through FL130 a reminder of what jet aircraft sued to sound like in the 1960s , but they only had four engines. FR24 gave the origin as Brize not Fairford which did seem unusual to me as never heard of combat types operating from BZZ. I checked out the flight early morning and it was well into the med having routed away from land all the way towards Gib.. Shame it wasnt daylight as I havent seen a B52 since they beat up Blackbushe instead or Farnborough in Airshow week .
