Shouldn't that be 'Defence, eh'? (apologies to Canadian chums, eh?)

I see that there is a Russian Air Force TU134AK heading towards Ukraine from Moscow right now. I wonder if that is a replacement for the dead General.

He's just turned round.

Seeing some of the lengthy routings that Russian carriers are having to take to travel to and from the Caribbean, I wondered what the ETOPS planning implications are for twins when potential divert points are located within "off-limits" airspace, e.g. USA & Canada. Can they plan to divert to those areas anyway, as they would always be accepted in an emergency scenario?

Eurofighter just whizzed overhead at 27000ft, seemingly chasing a French TBM7 also at 27000ft. Image from adsb here - https://i.ibb.co/TrrD2d4/Screenshot-...-03-150530.jpg

Wonder what that was about...

Can't be a B-52 on the map, all those a/c symbols only have 2 engines.

Nice military noise overhead of Frome today about 0830 F15 out of Mildenhall at 19000 ft turned south and over head Yeovil turned back descending to 14000 back over Frome then south again and back over Frome and heading home to Norfolk. Got a decent view of it as it turned . Such a short flight -an airtest perhaps ?

Couple of curious sightings on my screen today
RSD 909 arrived at Vnukovo (UUWW) today Yak-40 RA87972 at 1221 UTC point of origin unknown
Yak-40 RA87968 at 1547 UTC from Ulyanovsk
Didn’t know any Yak-40s were still flying. They were both operating for Rossiya Special Flight but different flight prefixes.

Saudi AF Herc went NW over London while I was walking back from breakfast a little earlier today. Speaking of Hercs, an interesting US civvy J went eastbound over London on Sunday evening.

Despite the chilly easterly breeze, spring-like here; the bumble bees are around and so too are the P-68s, busy snapping London and the Thames Estuary from 2500'!
