Hmmm, just saw a Gulf III whizzing over Woking at trail height. Couldn't hear the Speys due to trains, cranes and automobiles... N197PA...

Also a Premier 1 heading into Farnborough, sounded like an air raid siren...

Just seen this on my computer - a TAP Airbus landing at Heathrow from (according to Sky News) Athens? Is this an error, a positioning flight, or are TAP regularly flying ATH-LHR these days?

Looks like the page has been updated since your post - no reference to Athens.

Sitting in my aunt's kitchen in Lightwater and can hear an AN-12 UR-CIC travelling SW south of Guildford - very loud!

Just like the Sunday lunchtime before Christmas, was it the same aircraft doing the same routing (?), very audible inside our kitchen as well, even though at cruising altitude, not climbing. So, I put two empty wine glasses together on the outside windowsill and, yes, could get a little vibration between them. Not quite certain why, again, from Ostend to Africa they choose to initially route north-east to overhead London, and notably keep clear of French airspace, going round the outside of Brittany before turning south. Have they not paid a bill in France or something ?

The routings taken by these chaps are one of life's big mysteries!

I heard it as well, how could you not ? It seemed to be headed off to the Azores and thence SA or Caribbean avoiding Storm Franklin over the Northern parts of the Atlantic.

In a piece of pure speculation, I assume that the French demand an assurance that aircraft are not carrying nuclear/chemical/biological weapons and those who decline to provide it, such as the USAF, consequently mostly don't fly over France. Belgium similarly.

Tyson 13 now returning to UK - encouragingly heading across Germany towards the SE corner of the UK but I expect it'll route either north or south of my beady little eyes. Anyway, it's dark outside. And probably cloudy...

Hmmm, will be heading directly over southern Essex and London towards Lambourne by the looks of it. Might get a glimpse of some nav lights in a few minutes.

Hmmm, clear but no sign from South Croydon.

Fear21 manoeuvring in North Sea this afternoon, hoped it would come far enough North to see but no luck, looked to be exercising with some F15s
