Interesting aircraft - what have you seen on your computer today?

Something which appears to be an Air Madagascar ATR-72 whizzed eastwards overhead a short while ago - out of Shannon and heading for the Continent... grey overhead, no visual...
Apparently 5R-EJA with Tsaradia and has been stored at Monchengladbach to where it appears to be returning.

A Coastguard S92 was making circles and lot's noise just off the caost between Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth earlier this morning.
Anyone know why? Hope no one was in too much trouble.

A conspicuous violation or did they get a waiver?
One of the most spotted planes has to be Trump’s B-757-200, N757AF. That plane’s Type Certificate was issued under FAA FAR 25, certification of transport category aircraft.
In Part 25 there is this, FAR 25.811(f)(1&2)
(f) Each emergency exit that is required to be openable from the outside, and its means of opening, must be marked on the outside of the airplane. In addition, the following apply:
(1) The outside marking for each passenger emergency exit in the side of the fuselage must include a 2-inch colored band outlining the exit.
(2) Each outside marking including the band, must have color contrast to be readily distinguishable from the surrounding fuselage surface. The contrast must be such that if the reflectance of the darker color is 15 percent or less, the reflectance of the lighter color must be at least 45 percent. “Reflectance” is the ratio of the luminous flux reflected by a body to the luminous flux it receives. When the reflectance of the darker color is greater than 15 percent, at least a 30-percent difference between its reflectance and the reflectance of the lighter color must be provided

I have seen that RJ?146 meandering about that part of the world I live just south of Frome and out in deepest darkest summerset could even hear it on one occasion even though it was fairly hi, suspected at the time it as climbing hence the noise.Any idea what it does ?

Our multi-engine fleet at ETPS features two Avro RJ models, one RJ70 and one RJ100, which deliver a bespoke flying classroom environment for ETPS. In the cabin, student engineers are provided with an unparalleled learning experience through our custom flight test instrumentation workstations, which provide a broad array of data for live analysis in the airborne environment.
Nice to see (on ADSB-Ex) a Hunter (HHA's F.58 ZZ190) doing a circuit at Marham. Momentarily woried when it was showing Alt -175ft , now at 6000 ft over Holbeach.
SLXO ,QNH is high 1027 in places,Txpdr uses 1013 as datum,so -add 400ft...

A few weeks ago I mentioned hearing two Chinooks some 12 miles away across SW London, from a local hilltop woodland site with great views to the NW. When high up on the downs around here I have often heard noises that sound like jet aircraft taking off but eventually concluded that it must be Brighton line trains crossing bridges or similar.
Yesterday while walking through those woods, I heard the sound every couple of minutes - looking at ADSBX, each one was coincidental with an aircraft getting airborne from 27R at Heathrow, showing as climbing out a little to the west of the M25. I measured the 27R threshold as about 17 miles away and calculated that the sound would take perhaps a minute and a half to reach me. Now pretty sure it is the aircraft and not trains; if so it does seem remarkable to be able to hear them from so far away across a noisy city. The wind wasn't even WNW, more WSW, which would have assisted with carrying the sound to me.

Yes, it is always interesting how far the sound travels from some airports with heavy wide-bodies taking off. I remember back in the 70's BOAC/EAA/Gulf Air VC-10's heading out of LHR heading eastwards routing(Dover?). Now obviously the Vickers aircraft wasn't known for it's stealth qualities, but man alive, the sound just kept on and on and on, reverberating in the nighttime air. At times it came back stronger before ever so slowly fading away again. I thought that I'd imagined it being that the years had passed, but lo and behold some years back I heard it again at night and out of LHR and headed eastwards. It turned out to be the RAF VC-10 'Bob' on one of it's last sorties before retirement and it was exactly as I'd remembered it those decades ago. It's all the more impressive when the aircraft sound penetrates the soundsphere of a big city.
Sycamore, thank you for the info. Anyway my aging brain was probably momentarily in QFE mode. Hunter went on to do circuits at Waddington and Humberside 'International'.
I preface this by pleading I was indoors. On the subject of sound playing tricks, what I initially thought was a distant Chinook, earlier today, rapidly transformed into an R22. I am clearly not getting enough sleep. Not a mistake I would have made when a Chinook passed close by at what, from its apparent size, looked like <200' just under the extremely low cloud earlier this week. (Transponder off or too low to register)

Various later sounds from Vanguards (what a NOISY aircraft), including in Edinburgh in the 1970s the ability to hear them from the city centre while they were ground manoeuvring out at the airport.
Other more recent combinations, some described in this thread. Antonov 12 UR-CNN is quite audibly overhead at 25k feet right now as I type this inside the house.
Still nothing to beat the rolling thunder noise of Concorde approaching, which always had me going out into the garden ...

...or an AN-12 at 25000' heading ESE over Romford... audible over nearby traffic and the wind whistling through the treetops on Shirley Hills... oops here comes the rain.
Rain? It was bloody hail...
Edit: I see you referred to the AN-12 I heard while it was over Romford, WHBM - but around 10 mins earlier!

Just reremembered, an A109 choppered past me this morning, sort of red and blue/black. All very normal in Londinium, except this was from Ukraine, as in UR-regd. Long way from home.

Presume there has been some kind of incident at Biggin, had a PC-12 orbiting overhead which has now returned to Fairoaks, looking back an hour or so, three two seat Spits and their minder have diverted to Southend - no apparent movements at Biggin.
Seems to have opened again! The PC-12 just having another go and a Global Express landed a few minutes ago...

Just saw the rather majestic sight of a Lufthansa 747-800 climbing out of LHR just now. Must be 4 years since a passenger 747 was at Heathrow operating a service. I'm assuming it was a medical diversion rather than a tech diversion,

A breezy Heathrow and Gatters are getting a few go arounds this evening with some interesting holds being flown. Air India 787 has diverted to Brum after two attempts at the Row while another of their 787s is having a think about Gatwick after one go around - very geometric abstratastic... Air France A220 off somewhere else too. Or back to Paris.
Strange - windy in my back garden but doesn't seem that bad...
