CPL rated can perform a test flight of 747-400/A340-300 with a rated ATPL in LTP?
i'm just a newbie here in this forum,
i would like ask some questions here about the rules & regulation between the limitation of CPL IR ME, license.(ICAO& ATO)
i'm planning to have MTP program in LTP..
can i ask if a employee of LTP has a rating of A/P mech. & CPL IR ME in a small aircraft can possibly perform a test flight together with a rated ATPL pilot in a narrow-body or wide body aircraft? (can act as a FO, SIC or PIC)
and what is the main rules and regulation?
little bit confused because john travolta don't have a ATPL license, but he can fly the 707 aircraft.
thanks.

Should there be a difference?
If you are quitting PAL to transfer to another airline as a wide body captain (and probably greener pastures), the compensation you will receive for every year of service you have with PAL will be $2500 instead of $5000.
In other news, Capt Beda Badiola will be replacing Capt Julie Hernandez as the new SVP for Flight Operations.

A320 Sim for PAL
Can someone shed some light as to why PAL is not investing in Level D Sim for the A320 since they have atleast 8 A320 in the fleet.
comments are more than welcome.

Fourstripes,
My guess why PAL doesnt have a 320 sim.
1 - its as expensive as a real airplane(320), but cannot carry 170+passengers.
2 - or even if PAL has the money to buy one, NEVER give the idea, Since this is the only R and R plus extra per diems the Pinoy pilots get outside their normal duties. ( after the terror inside the SIM , of course)
3 - getting a sim means getting into the business of not just training your Own crew , but to offer it as well to other Airline crews to earn extra. ( i dont think PAL has a very presentable place to put in a Simulator - comparing My statement to CX facility, MAS, EMIRATES, DRAGON AIR etc)
4 - there's one in Clark already, im sure if they will offer PAL a very nice discounted Price, they'll be there ASAP. Otherwise, HKG is less than 2 hrs away.
5 - maybe they realized its not a profitable route to maintain and operate such a complicated unit, as experienced from their B737-300 sim.
just my 1 dollar

It must be that time of the YEAR!!!
OKaY boys and gays..... time to pull it out and measure!!!
how much are PAL pilots earning now? This isn't a trick question... or even some bad joke!
What is:
1. Group 1 take home?
2. Group 2 take home?
3. Group 3 take home?
Please be specific... eg. basic, product, check in and per diem.
Don't be shy now!!! there is incentive for those that spill it!
Details of a very well paid, well rostered, commuting (or accomodation) job.

Hey Planestupid,
How are you doing?
You are starting it all over again. Good job, lets get them in. Though Its hard to recruit now from PAL, coz most of them are waiting for the 777.
Expatula,
If Dj is really kurimaw. All I can say is, he did improve a lot on his grammar and use of punctuation marks such as Periods............. compared ..........from his previous post............ not too much of this anymore.
Hows life in A.D.?
Nothing new on this side, still waiting for the yearly increase. Very very quiet at the moment, no idea what we're getting this time.
Happy flying to all,
C1052

Goodluck buddy! When you're done with your upgrade just give me a call and I'll fly straight down Sheik Zayed to Dub for a cold San Mig with you. I'll bring the peanuts and my magic sing.
Cheers man!

To all those getting their upgrade outside....
Congratulations and best of luck!
I'm sure you remember the chorus of management guys about joining as a First Officer abroad during the peak of the exodus: "Forever First Officer."
It pays you well to be trailblazers! Hats off to you!

Thanks Pack 1, but I have to admit personally that this is a totally different ballgame, totally different battlefield with totally different terms and passing through the holes wont come easy, unlike when you are home.
So for now, Thats the Challenge.
Goodluck indeed to everyone
Cheers,

Preparing
hey guys,
I was just wondering what the PAL interview would be like. I also wanted to know where I could get some study materials for instrument stuff regarding the Philippine airspace or is my knowledge of the FAA system sufficient to pass the technical portion of the interview.
Thanks alot

for jolibeeflyer
i assume you live in the usa bec you have faa license. my advise to you is to pursue your flying dreams in the usa. although you might be filipino by blood you might be disappointed on how things go in pal. matters are run like in a 3rd world country. i am filipino myself & this reality i accepted only when i went abroad: once when my eyes were opened.
and besides pal will treat you with suspicion as you have faa license. the logic is you can go anywhere in the world if you wish & leave them once you realize the "anomalies" in pal.
when you fly in the domestic routes in the A320 with pal you will be grossly disappointed at how bad infrastructures are. 1400m X 30m runways. no facilities & pal publishes charts which says "all approaches must be visual." you are lucky if you have a local am radio station to guide you into the city (not the airport).
any runway overrun or incident/accident will always be viewed as pilot error.
