There will be a mixture of questions (technical/mathetical/geographical/personal). Keep your cool even if some questions you really have no answer for. No point trying to "bluff" your way through.be confident yet humble. just read up on everything. aptitude tests i think if you read thru 99 pages from this forum, it hasn't changed much. a lot of math, reaction time etc. i saw this from this forum just posted up APST IPAS if not you can try to google some aptitude tests to practice. all the best! |
Hi ripkurl
@ripkurl--I understand u cleared ur medical. May i know when did ur final interview..
|
hmm the new format they have is as such.
1) 1st interview 2) 2nd interview (aptitude tests/final interview/tea party) 3) medical (about 2 days after final interview, you call in the day before do find out if you made it thru to this stage) 4) medical results pass/fail -> email notification of course commencement date. time between 1st interview/2nd can vary A LOT. time between medical/offer for course can vary A LOT as well. the final interview was done in june. |
If you fail to make it into the RSAF, you can apply to SIA CPP even when your below the age of 26, however the company does not employ potential pilots if you are not yet 25 years old.
Anyone care to clarify? RipKurl, did you try out for the RSAF? Congratulations on being selected for the SQ CPP too. |
SIA cadet
Hi Guys
I am just done with my medical last week. I heard guys who did medical a week before me are still waiting. Looks like they are looking for a lot of cadets. The online application is still open. Anyone have any idea how to check the results of the medical. |

The Age Gauge

1. They wanted to get as much as people, so that, those qualified and inqualified ones will stay in their record. This way, those (inqualified) attempt to reapply in future will be kicked-off immediately and permanently. 2. Everybody who apply to SIA, must read James Tan's case. [click here. Read post #558 onwards]. James wrote in to the press and complained. Because of that, SIA has no choice, but to entertain Tom-Dick-Harry, inviting them for interview. Advertising for cadets may not be hiring alot. Don't get mistaken. |
Hi. Just wondering..
Any cases of anyone who got into the cadet pilot program after doing lasik surgery? |
Hi. Just wondering.. Any cases of anyone who got into the cadet pilot program after doing lasik surgery? 1. you must declare that you have done it. 2. your pre-lasik degree must still be within SIA requirement as stated in their Ad. |

To add on further, supposedly there are 10 lasik surgical applicants at that time, SIA will consider some as they have no choice. However, if there are 9 non-lasik and 1 with lasik sugery applicants, the one with lasik sugery will be out immediately and permanently! |
Applied to SIA twice in 2 months but still no response.Anyone can help?
Hi all,
I applied to SIA as cadet pilot last month after they had opening for the position online but so far there is no acceptance or rejection on the website portal.Last satuday they had Ad in the newspaper so i applied again. Has anyone else applied in last 2 months? Is there any advice as to how i should go about it? Thanks Ash |
skyknight: i'd say check through your application and make sure you meet all the requirements. as long as the application in the web portal doesn't show rejection or they have contacted you, you'll just have to wait it out.
best bet is usually the walk-in interview sessions. good luck and don't give up! ================== pilotpassion: age31? i'm not sure but if you are keen and have savings etc, i'd say why not! if not you will surely wonder/regret in the future. |

Anoop_d27 > Do u mind saying when your frens went for the medical ?
I had my medical about 3 weeks ago, still waiting for a reply though. Anyone knows how long on average before SQ contacts applicants after the medical ? Airbus_1985 > Congrats on passing the second round!! :ok: I know 2 of the guys whom attended as well! 8 months will fly by! Vnash > all the best for your second round interview! Check for tips on the forum. Be honest and sincere! Good Luck! |

Hi Guys
@Nineh- We all did our medical together. My friend got his confirmation to join. His reporting date was stated late Oct..
Dont worry you will get the email soon.. :-) Regards Anoop |
zpliu, I think we didn't meet. mine was at 9.45, 5th or 6th person to be interviewed. I supposed when I arrived, you've probably left?
|
Congrats to the both of you! :D
|
hi ripkurl,
i will just have to wait.btw check wit you something.they said they will only inform the shortlisted candidates.if my application status remains as 'application' that means there is still a chance that they have not reviewed my application or there are only 2 'status',i.e. successful and application? thanks again. |
Hello Sky 1983, mine also shows Job Application. Really wish for an interview..haha. But I know, it could be rejection for me because I apply before and the system reject me and shows "Rejected". ..will see how for me this time then. Don't know whether got chance a not leh haha... If I can be given a chance, I will fly to the sky with joy first liow..haha.. Cheers and we keep each other updated on any new status?
|
i went for medical on 23rd July.
Anoop, when did you and your friend went for the medical originally? i've waited for close to 2 years man since my 1st interview. |
Sorry, but if i hear you correctly, you waited 2 years to get your medical done?
:ok: |
no bro.
i cleared my final interview in Dec 08. then i was 24. I was granted a medical in Jan '09. I received a call and email that my medical was successful. But due to my age, I was asked to contact them again in Apr '10, when I will turn 25 1/2 yrs old. sent email to HR in Apr '10 and only got my re-medical scheduled in July. And now, still waiting for news... yupz... |
Right, sorry for the misunderstanding.
So my understanding is that you did not try out with the RSAF hence you got rejected at 24 years old? |
yup.. didnt try with RSAF.
i wont say got rejected. just that i'm told to wait.. and now, have been waiting and waiting... |
Hi Guys
@fizmy-- I went for my medical on 16 jul..
|
2 years is indeed a long wait.. I hope your turn comes soon! seriously i believe it's 99% luck!
|
@anoop: hey.. my medical was on 30 July, 2 weeks after yours. and in your thread (4 weeks after your medical), you mentioned your friend (went same medical with you) got in.. if maths were to be applied, i guess i've a week more to wait. heh... thanks anyway man. all the best for your retest.
@drareg: 99% luck? lol.. well, i guess i'm in that 1%. |
i'm just wondering if there's any cadets in this thread right now. if there is, can you guys shed light on whether the attrition rate in the course is high? be it at seletar/jandakot |
first round with sia
hi all,
i just got an interview call for a first round interview with sia for cadet pilot. wanted some help from you guys to get prepared for the interview. what kind of questions do they ask and what are their general expectations. any tips/dos/donts will really help. thanks in advance r |
@nineh: how? you still waiting for news? it's been a month since my medical. still waiting.
@ripkurl: i understand you went for medical earlier than me. (i went on 30 July) what about you? still waiting too? I heard from a friend already a cadet; he has a fellow cadet's friend who's having his obs in sept. briefing (aka signing of contract) will be done 3rd Sep. And based on @drareg, his friend got confirmation for late Oct. Well, this leaves me to guess for those who have yet to be contacted, when our OBS will be. to all: best way i feel, to know if you've cleared your medical is to call CAAS direct. i did that, and they said i'm in the system and all's fine. just wait for SIA to contact. another way is if you've got anyone who went for medical with you that day.. and was asked to redo his medical. if you're not one contacted for re-medical, i guess you're clear. just my 2 cents worth. still, darn it's a long wait. |
@zpliu: nah... a week will do actually. calling in the 2nd week wld be the best bet.
|
OCT obs
Hi Guys
Another friend of mine got confirmation. Reporting date oct 22 thx |
@anoop: i got mine yday too. 22 Oct also.
@zpliu: all the best! |
congrats fimzy! And all the best to the rest that are waiting! :ok:
|

hiring is definitely up i think there's also a course in Nov. saw a lot of pple doing their interviews at STC too. same cadets doing the interviews (jet sims still having backlogs). all the best! |
wa sai...can only envy you guys who got in.. Anyone still waiting with a Job Application status inside the portal? :)
