Yes, very accurate info given by autobrakes..
First interview usually on Friday.
2nd round starts on Tuesday to be exact, for some pyschomotor test..
Wednesday morning will be some group games and afternoon, final interview by a panel of 4 - 8 captains and hr personnel.
By Thurs, you will get to know if you should attend the medical/rejected.
K.. that's all for the clue I'm gonna feed you with .. if you are serious enough, and gotten the rare chance of being selected for interview. DO some homework, search and most importantly, be HONEST. Telling lies and trying to act how passion you are about aviation gets you nowhere... Remember; you are talking to someone who's flying hours are more than your msn-ing hours.
Last but not least: The selection + the interviews are definitely the MOST difficult process to gain you an entry.. But, do NOT slack and take things for granted when you are in Singapore Flying College. Although the chopping rate is not high as compared to RSAF.. but you will be axed if deem not suitable for this career. Good luck guys! Nice seeing so many young and enthusiastic cadet-pilot-to-be

I think they have gotten rid of the group activities for quite a few years already. Now, its just the psychomotor test on wednesday morning, followed by the final interview after lunch and tea session.
That was when i last spoke to guys from the 3rd floor.
@sga345,
haha, I know the system because i had gone through it years back. except for the group activity, everything else hasn't changed much.

Yes @ STC. Not too sure when I applied. I think it was in some recruit papers in January?
Things have sure changed for the application process. The last I tried was 4 years ago and it was sent either by email or snail mail. Kudos to SQ for introducing the online application. I think it will surely help the guys who need to filter the many applications.
To those who worry about educational stuff, not to worry too much. The first time I was called up, I only had a polytechnic diploma. 4 years on I have attained my Bachelor's.
Still just worried if they ask me on too many technical stuff... (different engine types, theory...) Though I could answer them best on KrisFlyer stuff hehe... FF lar
Erh... btw will it be a downside if you have some spare "gear"... its been awhile since I got into shape due to the deskbound and sedentary lifestyle of office work hehehe...
One more thing... any known banned activities SQ pilots supposed to stay away from? like the rumour of RSAF pilots not allowed to ride motorcycles... or engage in high risk sports (skydiving, scuba diving, promiscuous parties... just kidding)

@G.O.S
Yeah why not? I know of a few guys that were from EC before. Not sure what you mean by being an apprentice for 2 years though. You are still under a bond? You have to check with EC side if its a bond you re talking about.
@moccajava
Nope there aren't any banned activities. This is a civilian job and the company expects you to have a civilian life! You are fully responsible for your own health. I have heard of an FO breaking his leg while skiing though and the company had to send up an extra crew to fly the plane back. The bosses weren't too happy about that.
Its the cabin crew that i would encourage you to stay away from! j/k

@autobrakes
cool stuff.. haha.. great to do away with the group stuffs.. kinda funnie to play with the lego bricks..
@G.O.S
one of my batch boys was from EC, he had no bond when he joined tho'. For those with bond, it will depends on your Co. if they want to release you. During my final interview, we had a cabin crew still under bond. He cleared second round and went for medical with us, but couldn't join us in the end as the other side didn't wanna release him.

@TIny brain,
Thanks for the info.
Anyway, I do need to convince my Co. to release me. It won't be like the crew' case.
Coz i'm not yet established as Licenced A/c Eng.
Still under training...

Confirmation Period
Hi guys,
Just in summary... what would you say is the time span from one phase of the interview right down till signing of the contract and the official start of the training phase?
I think it would be beneficial for people to have an awareness of the short period of time they will have to adjust their daily lifestyle. (eg. serve notice period of employment, etc...)
1st interview -> 2nd interview [time elapsed?]
2nd interview -> medical [time elapsed?]
medical -> sign of contract [time elapsed?]
sign of contract -> OBS? [time elapsed?]
Are you obliged to accept all the dates that they tell you or are there any cases of deferments to begin in a later batch being considered?
Thank you.

Nope, I'm a JB kid, went through all my education over here. SIA used to accept Malaysians, now i guess they only take Singaporeans and PR's. Too bad I'm not a PR, DANG!

Hi guys, I've applied for SIA cadet pilot today. But I've yet to do the necessary assessment under "assessments to take", afraid my mac will screwed up my chances. What assessment are those?
Cheers,
Nigel

@Nigel85:
Did you answer any questions after submitting your application through the online system?
Don't worry about your mac screwing up the application, I used a mac to apply for it online too.
