I really hope so. Otherwise I'd hate my life. Ugh. They were taking in so many last year, and now this year they go on shutdown. Shouldn't have gone for hons year argh.
But they are offering 2 years leave for current cadets as well. Shouldn't they be trainin
g them for the future?

i guess the situation will improve soon. and i heard there are many senior pilots who are gonna retire soon in the next few years..so the current pool of cadets as well as the new cadets if selected this year will be of use in future.
PS: this is what i heard from a sia pilot around 6 months ago.

I have friends that have round 2 interviews scheduled at the end of March.. Hope that gives everyone some hope..
Don't worry, just apply when the time comes.. No point speculating about the hiring schedules.. Meanwhile I strongly advise you guys to find some work to do while waiting and stay positive!

Hmm just curious. Your friends had their first round last yr?
And only got called up this year?
Just wondering if there are people who have passed first/second rounds
and are waiting for news this year.

How are the cadets who take no paid leave gonna find jobs from other carriers?!
Sigh, im graduating soon and this news really hits me on the spot. Quite drastic move on SQ's part i must say. For those who are interested, there's a copy of the internal circulation email in another thread. I do hope they reopen applications for ab initio soon!

hope flyingmonkeyz is able to steer us out of this cloud of darkness soon
At the moment still looking at recruiting 80 cadets for FY12/13. So I've not heard anything about freeze in recruitment.
