AJ - That's a good call which sums it up correctly. The key here has to be that rare thing called 'a good likelihood of getting a job', something rather scarce in other self funded routes.

Shop around the banks. HSBC are certainly making a packet out of all the wannabes.

You should stand a better chance than many given your track record and demonstrated commitment.

My personal opinion is as follows:

If you're under 26, apply like mad to the sponsorships/ bonds, or better still join the RAF. Don't pay out any money for self-sponsorship until you've exhausted...
