Air India will pay and bond you. I ve never paid for type ratings, you will usually deposit a small amount which will be refundable in the future. Private airlines usually asks you to pay.

I know many management pilots who are not even graduates, its mostly the experience that counts (and sometimes politics). but if you have some master degree then it will also be a great advantage.

Just wait and see what will happen with the cadets. Most of them will end up here and it does cost huge money as well to train them on the mainline. And there is a reason why they are looking for...
