how the hell do you get the brakes on before landing? I would have guessed that they didnt take off with the parking brake set.

how could u have 500fpm as the criteria for a stable app?
A normal glidepath of 3 deg would give you approx 700fpm if u ur speed is around 150kts wouldnt it?

I have (flying a 738 NG) started to use LNAV instead of LOC during NP-LOC approaches since it is much more stable. The autopilot don't have to chase the localiser all the time.

I'we read somewhere else that it could be one of those big mil.ac with a radar disk on the roof that is locking its radar on you.

You just always have to put the level off alt in the crz-page as new crz-alt. I found the fmc really hard to manage in descend at the beginning, but when u realize how it works it's quite easy.

No exactly my point, they would rather let u go then to let u fly 10hrs/month. And since they are still recruiting happily that would mean that it´s rather unlikeley that you will fly the said 10.
