4 or 5 years ago a JAL acft was told to line up and hold, and he rolled down the runway and completed his takeoff. I know because I worked at JAL back then. I think it even happen at the same airport...

This is Connie's and Southern's angle. And this is why Focus and Ocean Air are struggling. Connie has his own heavy MX and Southern has a huge supply of parts and their own engine shop.

Having flown all three, definately prefer GE's idea of getting rid of EPR. Absolutely useless guage. Good for setting power but if you want to know how your engine is doing, look at N1, N2, EGT & FF....
