Hawaii.Heli Pilots
I went to agusta's school on Pennsylvania a few years ago, in fact we were in the class on the Tuesday of the twin tower attack, but attending the class was a pilot from Hawaii.
I am flying an H500 from a research boat in the pacific right now, but will be calling into Honolulu in a few weeks, and would love to catch up with a class-mate to reminisce. If you are reading this, or you know a pilot from the Hawaiian islands who did the Agusta safety school - please post me.
Hughie the pilot.

Polar First Expedition
PILOTS TO COMPLETE THEIR CHALLENGE!
Helicopter pilots Jennifer Murray and Colin Bodill have confirmed that they will attempt to complete the journey they set out on two years ago - the journey that ended so abruptly in a near fatal crash on the Ronne Ice Shelf in Antarctica.
They launched their record attempt to be the first pilots to fly a heicopter around the world from Pole to Pole in October 2003, but 58 days into their journey and two days after reaching the south pole, they crashed in whiteout conditions at 01.00 GMT on Saturday 20th December. Both pilots sustained serious injuries and their crash was reported by media around the globe. Many might have called it a day after such an experience but Jennifer and Colin are determined to complete the challenge.

"We’ve always said we’ll complete the journey and that’s exactly what we’re going to do – we’ve got ‘unfinished business," Jennifer says. "Happily many of our previous sponsors are as keen as we are to see this unique journey completed, so with their support, together with some new ones, we’ll be aiming to complete the journey in 2007."
Jennifer continues – "There is an exciting addition to this trip. We will be working in partnership with the Royal Geographical Society (RGS) and coordinating with the International Polar Year giving a core group of schools along the route and children world wide the opportunity to share our great adventure on a journey they will never forget. The RGS will be hosting our schools microsite -‘Passport to the Poles,’ whilst Colin and I will provide the dynamic link.

I'm also really glad to see that Jennifer and Colin are planning on completing the expedition, albeit two and a bit years later than expected and with a new helicopter.
Haven't had time to peruse the entire thread, but I thought I'd chuck a few Seahawk piccies on here for the heck of it. Enjoy. HeloPat

I just saw PH-SHO in Stavanger those days, and PH-SHN is ready after new avionics installation ( TCAS and maybe more) to fly back to Den Helder
If I am not too lazy tomorrow (no headach !?!?!?, sorry it's friday night fever here in Norway ) I'll take a picture of the upgraded instrument panel and post it

Off to Afghanistan
Well guys am off tonight on what I would say is my best adventure so far.
Leave here in the morning for flight to Dubai, then next day into Kabul where we join up with the INL Air Wing guys and their Huey IIs. Do a couple of flights out of there and then its down to Khandahar for the next four days where we go flying with them on a variety of tasks.
I should have some awesome images to post on Rotorheads when we get back. The Dept of State guys have been awesome to work with, and welcome the exposure of their operation in Afghanistan. So watch this thread for updates from that trip.
Cheers

Not the project pilot for the factory anymore...guess I'll have to change the SN. Flying one down in the Bay Islands of Honduras now. MSN 501, one of the last ones made in 1982. The ol' girl looks pretty good on the pad on our island, eh? (Okay, other than it needs a bath.)
And here is me, next to the bird, just after arrival and looking like I could use a good tan. (Actually, the photo came out really dark, so I lightened it a bit but it made me look like a cadaver.
