G-BFMY Onion Range June 15 1996

Whilst doing "Death by Onion" caught in Blizzard and had to shut down. Aircraft sunk into the peat and had to be dug out the following day.

BSP S-61s final departure - the end of an era

Today (7th September 2007) saw the last of the 3 BSP S-61s depart Anduki airfield (WBAK) for the last time, following the other 2 leaving yesterday, after 40 years of continuous accident free operations. The end of an era in anyone's book!

Some shots of the day(s):

V8-UDZ Departs

V8-SAV Prepares for start

Capt. Frayne Coulshaw in LHS of 'AV

V8-SAV is off

Capt. Hasni Hussain in LHS of V8-BSP

V8-BSP

And then there were none....

Thank you

I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has posted photos on this topic over the years. It has given me hours of joy (and envy ) seeing all the amazing aircraft and places that my fellow rotorheads have flown and visited!

Safe landings to you all.

Regards

Jim

Great shot, PNVS.

But I know what would be going through my mind if I was that Apache pilot:

"Big, white target acquired."

"Must...not...pull...trigger..."

Had my camera and a view of the hangar next door,

I guess the competition is interviewing for flight attendant postions, hey at least you can see a part of a helicopter in everyone of the photos . . . . . . .

Hope U Enjoy Them.

(Yes I did leave my job flying GOM and I am back flying in MC)
