If you pick your time (and tfc levels), then it never hurts to ask....but then...
It's not what you know:cool: ...!!

From the previous page...bushy, yes you are correct, it is Warburton. Not too many remote communities have sealed strips and reticulated grass ovals with lights for night footy.:ok:
Can just make out the roadhouse on the left edge of the photo.
Pardon my ignorance belowMDA, but what type of beast is ZK-NAD? I'm guessing Nomad but not too sure. And re: your Cb photo, I would probably go LEFT.

Hey!!!!, I picked it first. :} Dont ya just love the dongas out the back of the roadhouse?.
Hey Stallie, i just saw ya on the tele, testing the strip for the airbus.

Towering Q 11th Dec 2006 09:00

Apologies Wiz, you did pick it first.
I was there the other day and they are putting in some flash dongas with split system a/c. Now that all the weeds have been mowed it is beginning to look like a tropical oasis.

the wizard of auz 11th Dec 2006 12:37

Bwaaahahahaha. tropical oasis huh?. thats it for the secret now. It will become a tourist hotspot and the rent will go up. :}
I was over there about three months ago on my way to alice and the fuel was about 80c a liter less than here at home.

No Photos

I remember the petrol pumps out in front of the roadhouse, with a locked steel cage around them, and a sign saying "no photos".

Another interesting developement is our clever politicians deciding that the "grey nomads" will provide a cheap way of providing help for our indigenous freinds in the outback.
Can you imagine how long Mr, and Mrs 75 year old city dweller would last at Warburton.(supposing they could get there).
Maybe the "greay Nomads" can go and sort things out in Iraq as well. It's not much different.

Do Moving Pictures Count??

This is quite a download so if you have no broadband, well either wait a LONG while or give it a miss.

Nice bit of Video from Richard Wiltshire and an SAAA member in Sydney. This is the link to the video on the SAAA Xhapter 11 site. The rest of the site is worth a look also. Some great pics fom a couple of folk.

These photos are incredible - I have had a nosey in a whole host of strips around the Queenstown/Fiordland region, but nothing compared to that seletion of photos from PNG, is it even possible to get a Microlight with rotax power into them?! (never mind a real aeroplane!)

First time putting pics on PPRUNE, what's an easy way. What's this url stuff? Click Click

Chimbu chuckles 22nd Dec 2006 09:58

There is no 'easy' way there is but one way.

Go to something like www.fototime.com and download the pictures to a user storage library. You then click on the picture in your library and then copy and paste the URL (the bit that starts with www.) to pprune using the boxed 'landscape' icon in the toolbar. When you have downloaded the picture and want to post it here bear in mind you will need to click on it twice...so that the only thing on the screen is the picture...and then highlight and copy the url.
