Hey compressor stall,
Simply awesome photo.:ok: I know where you are based, but where exactly were you in that shot? A question from a beginner ... In the pic your props are synced pretty well, does your plane have prop sync? And is it always that accurate? Or is it just coincidence that the props are synced up so well? Sorry that my questions are a bit basic. Cheers, ABX |
Ultralights: Looks like VH-ASA to me ;)

Glad you enjoyed it. Unfortunately I do not have the GPS feeding position into my EXIF data, but that berg is approximately S69*13' E076* 26', and I was in the other aircraft at 1000' with a 70-300mm lens.
As for the prop sync, yes the aircraft is equipped with prop sync, although it is relatively uncommon in that it is not a master/slave sync. Magnets create an electric current that are fed into a controller that detects phase difference and varies the voltage to the synchronisation unit that then controls the prop governor. You can also turn the knob to pick up the top or bottom of the wave as is quietest. I presume that they had it on at the time (normal cruise ops) but looking though my photos it is merely coincidence that they are aligned. Of the aerial photos in my files, this one was one of the few that have the props perfectly aligned. Cheers CS |

Slezy9,
Aren't you suppose to stop and X No.1? Unless of course you are a lass, in which case it would be No.4. I can almost here the visual no interest call now, those were the days!!!:ok: Don |
stallie,
Thanks for the info, I thought I might look up those co-ords on Google Earth however all I saw was lots of large white pixels, I guess that area doesn't qualify for hi-res photography ... or my level of access to G.E. wont give it to me. Interesting part of the world you're in mate. Can you post the co-ords for your base? Had a mate down there a few years ago as a mechanic, said it was one of the best things he has ever done. Cheers, ABX |

I was thinking the same thing Pinky. The colour combination is unforgettable. But actually now that I look again at that second pic is it black and gold or green and gold? |
Donpizmeov....just for you so you can reminisce about "bombing the buoy!".

Definitely a Piper, going by the position of the oil hatch cover. TLF & Pinky, I reckon it is KFO!
