If you are a member of the AFAP, most of the details are listed in the 20th of July update. You will earn more at Skywest, Cobham (if their deal gets through) and Alliance.

Wow, I hope you guys are joking...Hopefully the guys/gals that are ballsy enough to turn down living In Perth have the intellect to turn down living in poverty. By the time I get an interview the pilots will be paying the company for a job...oh wait that is the norm, race to the bottom gents? Here here chappy, may we all lose!!

Quick question,

is it possible to transfer from Virgin Australia (NZ) (PacBlue) to an Australian base with Virgin Australia once you meet the internal transfer requirements or are they considered two seperate companies?

yeah that level 1 ejet FO and training salary look pretty ordinary compared to the 737. Basically you would be hoping to get the 737, unless they close the gap then who cares..

For the guys/gals on hold at the moment, where do you think they will start running ground schools for domestic and international?

i've heard no recruitment until early next year and even then there is still a backlog on the hold file... so realistically mid next year or so. Anyone heard different?

I asked if I was likely to get a start this Uni term as I'm doing some part-time units. Got told that was very unlikely. I think the EBA will have to be sorted and as you say last years hold file cleared first, so this year doubtful.

Trust me, they don't know any more than you do.

When I was on the hold file I asked the same question (for planning reasons you see ) and was told "sorry, we've been told no pilot recruitment for at least 6 months, more than likely 9 months so sit tight and we'll be in touch".

A week after that phone call I got another phone call with a start date 4 weeks later.

Things change real quick so believe nothing until you have signed a contract and are sitting in the classroom on day one.

Hey guys, just a question for all you VA boys and girls. Do VAI pilots get a VA seniority number when they start?

Spoke to one of the coordinator's of Flight Crew Training recently and currently they are looking at running the next induction course in April 2013. So if this is the case there should be some endorsement training in FEB/MAR 2013.

The info did come from the domestic side of flight crew training, so I guess it's flight crew training so I guess it's for VAA.

GAFA,

Thanks for that. Maybe VANZ and VAA would combine training courses. We will see I guess. I do know from my last email that they are not planning any courses for the rest of the year. March/April would seem a reasonable date.

I see the new EBA is proposing a training wage (first year salary minus 15K) and the company pays the remaining 15K for the endoresment. Anyone know if you get paid from day one ground school or do you still have to wait 6-10 weeks until induction?
