Yes ofcourse it is! Get the hell out of Riga and AB when you have the chance! 75's or not. Who cares as as you live in former Sovjet style Riga and fly for AB. I dont miss it a bit!
Take care "just another student" and all the best!

O it was a good party allright! Nicely organised and well presented.
Just this tiny little bit about us not understanding Latvian made me feel not completely part of the team.

Well, I didn't make it...
BT to me two days ago: "your personality profile didn't fit to company's developed preferable pilot profile"
And I can be thankful! All they really wanted to know on the second interview was whether I would be willing to move to Vilnius. I was quite clear and said I would only consider Riga. Which was true. Even that would have been a stretch. And my wife is even more thankful
I got the email just over two weeks after the second interview, after sending them two emails inquiring about the results.
The first interview: Sim session on a desktop computer, some questions from a Jeppesen SID and approach plates. Interview with HR rep, very pleasant.
Second interview: A little auntie-type elderly lady, not so pleasant. Be prepared to draw a lot of pictures, move to either Riga or Vilnius, and to get your messsage through that you're happy with a low salary as long as you get to fly anything. I guess I wasn't ready for that Quite the the relief now, when there's nothing more to be done about it. Was a good learning experience anyway.
Anyone wanting more specific information on the interviews can send a private message to me and I will send you some information.
Cheers!

Just to point out that Vilnius is not the worst place on Earth; if anyone around here plans on a career in BT, by all means make sure that you will be based in Vilnius.
Also, the BT salary is quite sufficient for maintaining a highly pleasant lifestyle in Vilnius, maybe except for the first 200 hrs after line training, as the salary for this period has changed lately.
That said, BT is a place you stop by to get the experience you need for a "proper" job, as T&Cs in general is substandard in the industry. But the company has positive sides - for my own part, I can only give positive comments to former colleagues in Vilnius, who made the entire stay there a pleasant experience.

"I happen to know all of the FO's moving onto that fleet, except 1 guy, 99% from the Westside , moves are according to seniority (well kinda) on the 737."
Spot on with the "kinda"! Btw. it is quite "funny" to listen to 737 F/O's who feels more qualified to move to 57 than F50 F/O's. So they already flew a jet = transition is less "painfull" but hey; 99% of them came from a Piper Seneca or similar before "getting" a jetjob... 99% of the Fokker F/O's has a previous career in G/A...
Remember where you came from guy's

i havent heard any 737 F/o`s talking about being more qualified.
But in the world of aviation i guess there is some truth to it in some odd way..... moneywise that is.
U got ur fokker 50 rating allready, and is bonded because of that.
Why should they give a fokker50 pilot another rating before their bonding is done ?? And on top on that they have to pay a new fokker50 rating to the next guy.
Theres loads of typerated 737 pilots, which doesnt cost the company as much, to fill out the empty seats.

Again spot on. This is not my point and besides it will never change hardly even decline. My point is more the attitude regarding TP vs. JET and who is more qualified to move the next jet. So what I am merely asking is to that some people remember where they came from. My guess is that 1000 hours on a Fokker is more qualifying than "200 hours straight out of flight school with fresh jetrating".
I don't know how widespread this attitude is within but I find it a bit
This however should be a "bartalk" someday...

Haven't heard much talk about the being more qualified issue regarding props/jets etc. That shouldnt be a serious issue, wonder how that started...
Terms & Conditions, a well hidden secret and since nobody knows i expect them to be as on the 737 - unfortunately.
Wonder how the mystery jet operation will behave in the beginning

We have no clue how it is going to be.
According to the chief pilot the terms will be the same as they are now.
Check ppjn to see what they are.
So no new contracts for the 757.
