In case anyone was worried about Russian tourists unable to make it for their Crimean vacations on time, RIA News is reporting that; “Tourists who are late to arrive at vacation destinations in Crimea will be refunded, and there will be no fines for being late, RIA News was told by the Russian Union of Tourism Industry. According to the association, about 20,000 vacationers are expected to come to the peninsula in the coming days.” https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....ed4c9cb926.png |
Russian tourists in Crimea are starting to realize there is a war going on as they are forced to drive home via the northern route next to the front line.

Hmm, does that mean Turkey is still under treaty to protect ships carrying grain departing from Odesa?
Zelenskyi responded to the onesided termination of the grain agreement by Russia. "There were two agreements: Ukraine-Türkiye-UN and Russia-Türkiye-UN.” “Therefore, when Russia says that it is stopping, it breaks its agreements with UN Secretary General Guterres and with President Erdogan.” “Not with us. We did not have any agreements with them," he said. |
HFD. Thanks a lot mate. I had to go and look at 2870, and now I need some Clorox!

Girkin getting the Heebie Jeebies over Erdogan - let’s see what happens over Russia pulling out of the grain deal…..
War criminal Girkin is predicting Turkey will have a direct military clash with Russia: “The moment of truth is getting closer. Or rather, the time is getting closer when my oldest (from the beginning of the Syrian campaign) forecasts about the development of the situation in the "Ukraine-Turkey-Syria" connection will come true.… The question of the timely withdrawal of our expeditionary force in Syria has long been "overcooked", but has not yet been raised as such. A large group of our military remains Erdogan’s “hostage". We can expect with high probability that the long-awaited rejection of the shameful and senseless "grain deal" will set in motion a chain of consequences that naturally leads to a sharp aggravation of Russian-Turkish relations and an acceleration of Turkey's inevitable transition to the camp of our open enemies. The time allotted for the possibility of evacuating our troops from Syria during the "deal" is apparently lost forever.” |
The report of damages given to Putler says the railway tracks are damaged as well and it'll be mid September before road traffic may resume. Thats assuming there will be no more attacks of course...
|
The Special Escape Operation of Russian tourists is causing heavy traffic jams tens of kilometers long.

Whether or not it's true that they are advancing, that video looks very much like a fake.
HFD (who finds the left picture in #2870 quite appealing) Ukraines timing of the Kerch Bridge renovation s impeccable, is problemma for Putins, no? Will add to the memories of the Soviet holiday makers who flocked to Crimea for Summer break, and will assist the vendors and hawkers on the road between Sevastopol and Rostov. Travellers should be advised of travel delays, and should take ear plugs, it has been noisy and the bavovna are in bloom. FDR |
The Kerch bridge defence plan by Shoigu. All this yet the bridge is down again. Russian efficiency.
|
All these fleeing holiday makers will cause havoc on troop movements and control behind the Russian lines.

Should the question not be: I wonder WHY they haven't hit the railway bridge?
You'd think that the rail link is more useful to the Russians in terms of heavy munitions getting in, leaving the road link available for the ground forces to leave? Think the rail bridge is structurally stronger and consequently a harder demolition job. Last October's blast on the road bridge caused collateral damage to the rail bridge from burning fuel tanks from a fortuitously passing train. Can't help but think the rail bridge and road bridge would be well demolished by an exploding ordnance train. Possibly, maybe, a fpv drone flown by local resistance might even detonate a passing ordnance train.... a most unsymmetrical/cost effective demolition job if it ever were to happen. Don't think there's any credence to the idea of 'lets leave the road bridge intact for russian forces withdrawal' Doesn't make sense to leave the road bridge intact when russian trucks can therefore be used to supply Ukraine's opposing force. Meanwhile back in Russia they have Wagner lumped upon them, rather ironic isn’t it, and the situation can only get worse.

Cuckoo land or what, they obviously assume Ukraine is going to sit back and watch this happen.
A temporary bridge 250 meters long will be built near the damaged part of the Crimean bridge, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin said. "We plan to launch a fully-fledged one span on September 15. We will work to restore the second span. It does not work here according to technology, so we will most likely build a temporary 250-meter bridge and lift the spans with heavy cranes" - Khusnullin said. |
Well, you can see why the Ukrainians like Western APC’s, getting into that damned thing under fire is a nightmare.
|
|
Overhead shot of the bridge, you can see the twisted road lanes on the right, and if you look at the left hand lanes white lane side markings, it has shifted over to the right and dropped.https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....31f86c116.jpeg
