Yeah the equvialent to the abomination russia fielded would be the TUK TUK with the maxim machine gun mounted on it or the ute (truck) with the twin maxim 1910's and red dot scope being used for anti drone use. I spent time as a gunner in a sustained fire machine gun platoon. We trained to fire them in indirect fire so I could be some edge case usage of them, but comparing them to them capability of a modern radar guided AA with fused airbursting rounds is pretty retarded

Unfortunately, to put things in perspective a bit as to the sort of losses that Russia considers "acceptable", the Soviets at Kursk lost between 5 and 10 times more tanks than the Germans did (there is a wide variation in the estimates of Soviet losses, and apparently Stalin and company didn't care to keep good records). So the Russian tank losses in Ukraine are roughly equal to Soviet losses at Kursk.
Then again, at Kursk, the Soviets could stand to lose 10 to 1 because they were outproducing the Germans by over 20 to 1, and Stalin's concern over human casualties was pretty much non-existent (sort of like Putin).

If you take the time to read my post intelligently, I didn't compare them , just commented on the coincidence of two - universal add-on - turret systems ( rather unusual objects ) being discussed/ publicised concurrently.

In the lunchtime update of The Times.
Xi expected to hold talks with Zelensky after visiting Putin

President Xi is expected to hold talks with President Zelensky next week for the first time since Russia invaded Ukraine in an effort to broker peace.

The video meeting is likely to follow a summit in Moscow next week between Xi and President Putin, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Beijing has sought greater involvement in securing peace in Ukraine, announcing a series of proposals last month aimed at de-escalation that were swiftly rejected by allies but not ruled out by Kyiv. Zelensky has said that Ukraine needs Beijing’s involvement to solve the conflict.

“China has shown its thoughts. I believe the fact that China started talking about Ukraine is not bad,” he said last month. “But the question is what follows the words. The question is in the steps and where they will lead to.”

How thick do they think we all are?, A 10 year old Russian boy shot by NATO marked round while saving 2 girls.....

Behold the 5.5mm G/S screwdriver bit round .. :ugh: I wonder if they do a No2 Posidrive armoured piercing round as well? Luckily they never used a No3 philips round as he would have been well and truly screwed. :p

One reason is maybe those very people who have the skills to produce the ammo are now sitting in trenches freezing their nuts off or dying because they were mobilised from the very plants that produce the ammo... long may it continue :)

Interesting calculation discussed in this new @Forbes piece. Russia looks to be running out of T-72s even more quickly than previously thought.

Estimated that Russia has already lost 2/3 of its T-72s. What’s left is older and crappier.

Ukrainian pilots in the US for F16 evaluation rated exceptional by US.
Considering they have survived over a year of major conflict and conflict since 2014 I would imagine they have picked up a lot of survival skills and tactics.

Translation:

Ukrainian pilots proficiency for fighter training #F16 rated as exceptional at #USA based on Arizona National Guard Air Force Base The 162nd Fighter Wing, which flies F-16 fighter jets, is based at #Tucson International Airport and trains international flight crews on the fourth-generation aircraft One of the officials said that another 10 pilots could come to the United States for the same evaluation.
