Lukashenka has been eating some magic mushrooms apparently, as Belarus says it thwarted attack on capital by drones launched from Lithuania

MOSCOW, April 25 (Reuters) - The head of the Belarusian security service said on Thursday it had thwarted an attack on the capital Minsk by drones launched from Lithuania, Russian state news agencies said.
There was no immediate comment from NATO-member Lithuania.
"The State Security Committee, in cooperation with colleagues from other law enforcement agencies, has recently carried out a number of acute security measures, which made it possible to prevent strikes by combat drones from the territory of Lithuania on objects in Minsk and its suburbs," RIA news agency quoted Belarusian security chief Ivan Tertel as saying.

Especially as they seem to drive around the battle field without any support from infantry.
The nets (as seen on the MT-LB) have no use against ATGM's, artillery, LAW's etc,
Same applies to the sheets of metal, might trigger the first phase of the first LAW, which then breaks it and the next to hit works as usual. If using something with more bang like Javelin or APILAS, wouldn't expect those sheets to have much of extra protection.

Apparently drones are perceived as the main threat, as mobility and visibility are sacrificed. Or, drones are the only thing the orcs think they are able to protect themselves from.
With the shortage of Ukrainian artillery ammunition etc, I think the perceived threat that is taking out a lot of their armour is indeed the drones. They have been steadily losing armour while the shortage continues, so that can only be down to mines and drones.

Interesting re the Belarus "attack"... false flag being constructed, anyone?
Purely happenstance though, did see on FR earlier today a Rivet Joint and a Spanish Herc flogging around in one of the Baltics. Could have been Latvia, can`t recall...

EDIT Hang on a tick, could this be a Reuters tabloid misinterpretation of the RIA quote?
Look at the wording carefully;
"...has recently carried out a number of acute security measures, which made it possible to prevent strikes by combat drones from the territory of Lithuania..."
Turn "made" into "makes"... just saying.

https://www.lrt.lt/en/news-in-englis...from-lithuania

It gets better...
Sorry, I can`t seem to copy/paste from the original RIA article in Russian, but a precis of the very next two sentences;
- Our initiatives in this respect are ongoing, we are unable to provide details at this time...
- "The Committee Head added that radicals are manufacturing battle drones in Lithuania and Poland for strikes against Belarus targets"

Sigh...

And I profusely apologise to Reuters - they literally translated the RIA tabloid headline.

I suppose that's a different sort of "I Have a Dream" speech than the one I am more familiar with from MLK.

I am amused to see the noise being generated over the "under the table" transfer of some ATACMS. (And I'm pleased that it went down).
That noise is almost as loud as the noise from the ignoramuses bellowing on and on about American aid.

That shortage is about to end, the most urgent delivery list included javelins and other anti-tank material.

Paramount Defense are interesting IMO.

They also upgrade Mi-17 and Hind helicopters with composite blades and modern electronics and weapons.

I never said it would be easy, but IMHO that is what it will take, you need to cut off their resupply.

I cannot see how else you can do it, if they can afford to loose the amount of troops and armour they are doing at the current rate, they can keep pumping them into the country until you exhaust your own supply of troops, you need to reduce that flow.

Regarding the Russian sheds, blyatmobiles, here's a nice video where five differently "drone protected" vehicles get hit one by one by other means.

By properly you mean turret tossing? Even though it is spectacular, that is not what always happen. And there is no need to as stopping the assault is the main task, everything else comes as a bonus. The first one was apparently a MBT and it was disabled (twice hit by a mine it seems). It's assault stopped there so mission accomplished.

Numbers 3 (a mine) and 4 (seems like got hit by a LAW of some type) went off with a bang, I recon those were BMP's or similar as they seemed to release infantry. IFV's dont blow up like the T64-T90 -series do, and from the video the damages can't be evaluated, but they stopped didn't they?

Regarding #2 I am in dark what actually happened to it. Something sinister I hope.

The United States has purchased 81 liquidated fighter jets from Kazakhstan - Su-24, MiG-29, MiG-27, with an apparent intention to supply them to Ukraine for use as airfield decoys and spare parts.

Igor Shushko is known for being a little bit to patriotic (or to be rude: spread misinformation).
Kazakhstan sold approx 100 jets for scrapping last year.No other soucre indicating that any of them may be bought by the US and/or for ukraine.

A more or less complete shot down Russian Kh-55SM, I bet the US will be interested to see it.
