“And the name, Hawker Hurricane, was a natural successor to the Fury and of course followed by the Typhoon and the Tempest ... No, The Phaart was not part of the sequence, Julie.”
When I say that the Hurricane was a world-beating aircraft, you have to understand that in those days, "world-beating" meant what it says. Not, as it means today, "desperately hopeless".
Criticise all you want but I would like to see you boys still performing at 76 years of age. OK I admit Bernie Eccleston is the exception.

And as you can see it looks furk all like a Spitfire which explains why we won the Battle of Britain, the Germans were as blind as bats...

"Simpkins, there's a very good reason why you can't see any gluey fingerprints all over it and that reason is, anybody...?"
"The work force at Hawkers weren't cack-handed slobs sir?"

' Julie ' thinks... just because the CO wants to be seen as all inclusive why did I have to be picked to dress in girls clothing today? For a visit to a cold draughty hangar....Still it does feel nice on my skin.. might volunteer again ...
"It's great that your Grandad fought in the battle of Britain Julie, we have some archives here...perhaps we can go and see if we can find some pictures..and maybe a Squadron photograph...what was his name?"

Now tomorrow you take part in the interservice football match against the Naval Cadets at Grimsby. Remember play hard play safe and play fair. But if you feel a nudge in the box go down and get a penalty...

Even during the war they practiced social distancing, they wore masks and tried to keep about 150 yards apart as they shot each other to pieces

Yes, we name all our good aircraft after storms.... Hurricane, Tempest, Tornado, Typhoon.... and I mean the one with the piston engine in, not the bags of sh*te you will see flying around outside this hangar...

And there I was, nothing on the clock but the makers name......Seiko.... It was then I realised we had a power cut and I was going to be late, sorry about that..
Although the cadets searched high and low, they could see no sign of a big watch, so they concluded that the person talking to them was a Bluntie wannabee.
OK so that concludes the hangar Tour and the next item on the list is a trip out on the pan to conduct a FOD walk to look for debris that could damage aircraft engines. I know it is hissing down but war does not stop for a bit of rain.
Now if Martin would pop in and advise we could abort this and move onto another issue. ..
Ps had to cancel my Golf today and entertain the Grandchildren indoors
