As ever a strong effort all round and it certainly went a lot further than I thought it would.
Highly commended is Roadster 280 with a solo attempt at tone lowering:

In third place is brickhistory with the sly:
I told you to pay attention, 007...
In second place is ACW599 with a plausible:
"Oh, no, everything's fine. I just wanted to get some mushrooms for the Mess".
And we have a joint winner in NutLoose:
"But Boris told me there would be a new airport here"
and NutLoose with:
"No sorry, he's not my dwarf, have you tried the Hawk in the next field?"...
So if NutLoose and NutLoose can come to an agreement as to who will post next....
