Further research showed that due to a mix up at Boots, (other photo processing firms are available) this was not a USN aircraft crash on a aircraft carrier but in fact a crash into the Empire state building . Portrait Landscape what difference does it make ?

Upon commencing a transfer to the USN, Commander Ward, RN was pleased to show his son, Sharkey,how a deck landing on a Aircraft Carrier is done, and so the legend was born

The initial Skunk Works suggestion for parking more aircraft on the deck, was considered a little impractical, so they started thinking about making the wings fold up instead.

Lieutenant ( Jg ) Bush was later disappointed to discover that while his aircraft was recovered the same day, he had to put up with 3 months in a Submarine

The Pilot was OK. Eighteen Deck Crew were injured by a Corsair rotating at 800 rpm.

Who said the Corsair was hard to land on a carrier.....it was takeoffs afterwards that were the hard part.
