So Hoskins your log book shows 50 successfull carrier take offs but so far no successfull carrier landings. Care to explain?

As an economy measure, the USN had always specified aircraft without expensive propellor spinner bosses.

Lt(jg) Dumbugger, being aircrew, blamed the sailors for the ship being at the wrong speed, heading and height.

At the subsequent hats on no biscuits or tea meeting the captain did suggest I was not suitable for Naval aircrew and suggested Navigator was more in my line.....In a B17 over Europe

Abe was congratulated by Admiral Nimitz for proving that LONGER flight decks are needed in the fleet carriers,
