Further research showed that due to a mix up at Boots, (other photo processing firms are available) this was not a USN aircraft crash on a aircraft carrier but in fact a crash into the Empire state building . Portrait Landscape what difference does it make ?

The initial Skunk Works suggestion for parking more aircraft on the deck, was considered a little impractical, so they started thinking about making the wings fold up instead.
