Sir!!!! Blue Peter said all you need is match sticks, grease proof paper and a large kitchen roll.....but thinking outside the box, I've used bamboo cane, corrugated iron and U571....

Alas, the square windows turned out to be a fatal design flaw. But for that, the history of commercial aviation might have looked very different.

Disaster was to strike during the first test flight when, just airborne, the 42 piece orchestra slid to the rear of the Grand Ballroom, upsetting the CofG with tragic results.

Caproni's attempt at the trans-Atlantic crossing record ended in ignomony, when it was found to be so slow it was beaten by 7 men in a rowboat.
