depending upon who tells the story, the game park was 7, 11 or 16 miles short
I heard a version which had it landing in the Kitale Game Reserve, about 200 miles NW of Embakasi!

How tails can change in the telling!

Seems it was one of 5 BOAC Comets which hit the ground in unplanned locations but relatively painlessly!
