Bloggs thought the first day on his Nav's course was a bit extreme when the instructor decided a practical demonstration of the 'Triangle of Velocities' was in order

The original OASC balance tests, whilst effective, would be considered a tad harsh today.

Base line rallies soon proved to be the order of the day, as one player approaching the net caused irrecoverable control difficulties, with predictable results.

Early Royal Navy carrier deck landing trials were not a great success before someone realised it might work better if the batsmen were positioned on the side of the ships deck.
