Military Aviation A forum for the professionals who fly military hardware. Also for the backroom boys and girls who support the flying and maintain the equipment, and without whom nothing would ever leave the ground. All armies, navies and air forces of the world equally welcome here.

Always trying to out do their Western counterparts, the Russians took their attempt at the Cessna Caravan a tad too far..

"It's true - all you have to do is to just fly the front end and the rest follows on behind" .

(based on reported answer from Bill Pegg when he'd just landed the "Brabazon" (1951 ?) after its first flight, and a reporter asked "What's it like to fly a big aircraft like that ?")

Winners and Also-rans

Judgement Day ...(Thank you for all the entries. For what it's worth, I found it tough making a choice.Harder than penning a winner!)

Third Place Wensleydales's Its not real - its an optical Ilyushin.

(Might have won but was nobbled by Fox's intervention, 'p.s. I think wensleydale has a winner already')

Second Place superq7's It's fine we Mig welded it to the building so it won't Tupolev.

But with his nose just in front, it's Surplus with

Ground floor perfumery,
stationery and leather goods,
wigs and haberdashery
kitchenware and food...going up

First floor telephones,
gents ready-made suits,
shirts, socks, ties, hats,
underwear and aircraft...going up
(verbose but giving value for money)
