Pilot information event of Emirates today was very informative, its an inspiration to work as a flight crew. Detailed explanation from Benefits to work condition. I hope someday they would change the hiring requirement and include the A330 for DEC and give chance for those who haven't flown for 2 or 3 years due to COVID 19.

Spoiler
Unfortunately I didn’t watch it. I registered a couple weeks ago, but didn’t receive any confirmation email. As I’m not type rated on Boeing or Airbus, I just assumed I wasn’t qualified for such presentation - since they just changed minimums recently. When I woke up today, I find in my email a link to join the session… well, too late 😓
Did they give any details on hiring and minimum requirements? Are we to expect a return to minimums of X hours above X tons?

Are they only looking for current and TR pilots on the 737/A320 and heavier types?
Tks in advance...
Flyinghigh320 - you are kidding me?
inspiration!
I’m still owed 2 months salary from 2 years ago and yet I’ve not been repaid even though we’ve made record profits
Due to poor conditions many trainers leaving, hence shortage of experienced trainers.
EK changes conditions whether it is accommodation, medical, schooling, travel and your contract on a whim!
Tight controls on internet , social media posts etc, protect the brand is everything at EK, fall foul of EK rules and you’re out! (You’ll need a vpn to access pprune in Dubai btw!)
There is a general malaise EK, fear of management.
you think it’s a dream, until the day you upset the apple art, then you realize you’re alone and a long way from home.
Be very careful what you wish for.
Read all the posts good AND Bad, Sadly I think you’ll find more bad than good at EK.

Hello there... I couldn't make to the on-line event today. Could you please share some light about what they are considering as minimums to be invited to the assessment in Dubai?

Again, as mentioned before. There’s a very good reason that they were not called back. Expats are always kept a record of, it’s common knowledge surely? Bad training record, causing trouble down route, trying to cheat the system amongst many reasons. Many people were invited back and chose not to return. That’s fair enough. Each to their own. The opportunities in Emirates are great, if it works for those who accept what they get themselves into, ie. you are working as a foreigner there. Don’t expect luxury treatments in all situations. No union. Be prepared to be flexible.
Ignore Nineshimbers, he/she is a very junior pilot ex cadet with no real experience. Been at EK since lunch time.
ummmmm actually there were no “good” reasons for not calling people back.

Anyways, the minimum requirements from the careers page doesn't list tha A380 TR as a minimum.
Thanks for taking your time to answer, btw.

what I meant was
EK is playing with requirements, changing them in a blink of an eye
you started to be in, you followed the requirements, and boom EK changes and you out or back to square one.
Apperently it starts at you application, and as from experience, with this company, it will follow you through your career.
That happend to pilots on the A310 and later pilots on 330/340, and will happen when 787 and 350 are being introduced, because it’s EK.
EK has changed command requirements without changing the books, invented internal requirements nobody could actually see ( e.g. sick days) etc
the list of things which EK does is sheer endless with no respect to their “so valued” employees.

I attended the recruitment event 2 days ago. Nothing new actually. Just check the FAQ page and you don't miss anything. At the end of the event Q&A session started. The thing is all the questions coming from so-called attendants and presented by moderator were so basic and most of them were already answered during the event. It was no more than roleplaying. I sincerely asked a question about my application which is still at hold (assessment cancelled after all arrangements were done) and obviously I couldn't make it through the moderation. And I always thought my company is not quite professional as it claims.

Emirates treats all their employees like crap , unless they are locals. its all part of the fun. once you resign from your previous airline, they own your ass. They are much nicer in the recruitment than the rest of the airline! It's unbelievable the difference in how recruitment makes you feel going through the process and how you are made to feel day in day out as a pilot in the airline !

during recruitment and joining Phase everything looks and feels like -WOW
reality starts setting in slightly during the training and latest when you are on the line and approaching your first LPC/OPC - latest than you know where you are and what’s your value
