go and waste your money with ryanair....
this system is absolutely corrupt ! |
Ive just been reading this thread but not commenting. I recently was just told that I have an interview on the 29th of January. Anyone else on the same date?
|
Same shit
I agree with the other FO's it's literally gone to ****. I joined about 2.5 years ago and i notice a big difference already.this year I have flown 200 hours less than last year which equates to €16k. at the minute it's a case of survival every month until I can move elsewhere :}.
It was ok at the start when you could offset your type rating as an expense you could keep a decent retention on your salary and even save money at the end of month, but those days are long gone |
Reporter - Mayday Mayday Part 2 - English version
Life on the Line CAE Type Rating: " Opportunity to Fly for Ryanair Successful candidates may be offered an opportunity to fly for a contract pilot agency that supplies a pool of pilots that operate on Ryanair aircraft. " |
Did anybody who attended the assessment on 8/9 Jan got a reply from RYR?
|
I heard FO's are flying an average of 30 hours/month, with 24 cadets joining every week and zero new aircraft coming....
|
Unfortunately I've seen their rosters...
|
Anyone know what to expect on the call from cae? got it this week, cheers.
|
From reading this thread, it seems that those low hours guys being offered contracts from Brookfield/Storm are working to around 50 Euro/hour (up to 1,500 hours and unfreezing ATPL), is that correct?
If so, at an estimate of 600 hours a year (which people seem to suggest is about the max at the moment) that only equates to 30,000 Euro p.a. before taxes. My question is, with loan repayments £1,000+ per month for guys coming from an integrated course, how do people actually afford to live?! I know there are certain ways of offsetting training costs for tax purposes, but E30k p.a. seems incredibly meagre! |
Hi who did you do your training with and do you think 38 is to old ppl holder just now but fancy a change of career
|
@ Finger Flyer
Thanks for the info. Finding the details is not hard, however, separating the tripe from the actual reality out there certainly is! For every person that says there are too many F/O's, hours are as low as 500 a year and if you're over 30 then forget it, there is another that says 650+ hours is the norm, pay is OK taking into account tax breaks for training costs and they know plenty of people getting opportunities regardless of age or integrated/modular training! T'was ever thus I suppose! |
CAE training only 5 courses this year, max 12 cadets each
EMT training only 12 courses this year, max 12 cadets each |
FingerFlyerAlso I've never done less than 40 hours in a month and can think of no one who does. I'm in the UK. I flew 30hrs in September and 22hrs in November. A colleague in the same base flew 20hrs in November. January is currently 40hrs and Feb is looking to be about 35hrs. My roster from the end of October has pretty much been two sectors on my first day, then three standbys, then two sectors on my last day. I recently met an FO who started his line training in November and didn't fly again until January due to training capacity... |
I heard people flying 15 hrs in small bases, but apparently it depends base by base...yes of course 24 cadets/week it's too much but this was the rumor. I'm just reporting it.
Latest news: seems they will freeze recruitments very soon. |
Is there anybody that did not pass all ATPL subjects at the first time and still got invited by Ryanair?
Thank you :) |
Hi
It is not true about first pass in all ATPL exams, 1 retake is allowed.
About the recruitment process , is not only related to the new aircrafts incoming but also related to the outflow of pilots getting a better job with a lot of hours experience on a jet. the recruitment will slow down a little bit but not freeze as Snak said. Cheers |
RYR
.....i am not surprised.......none will never understand the recruitment process of this company!!!
Example: When the assestment was done by CAE and OAA a huge amount of pilots discherged by one of them and got a job with the other one!!!!!!! This happens only in Ryanair!!!! |
RYR assessment
Just had the call and got an assessment at Stansted on 6th feb, anyone else on this date?:)
|
Had the call today got an assessment on the 6th of February, anyone else on that that date?:O
|
Ive read through most of the post and got a rough idea. Ive got an interview on the 29th and was seeing if anyone had been recently, or recently started the type rating just to get up to date questions etc. Im sure the questions dont change too much, but its just to get a rough idea of what to expect basically?
