VHHH stop bars
Hello.
Could somebody kindly check for me that the green taxi lights, marked by the blue arrow in the picture below, continue through to the runway even when the stop bar is lit in red? I does this in our 744 Sim and the inspector requires that I supply some sort of evidence that this is correct in the Sim visuals.
Many thanks,
Rob

Your 744 simulator is wrong. All airport stop bars are interlocked with the centreline greens. As soon as stop bars are turned on, the lead-on greens are tuned off. When the stop bars are turned off, the lead-on greens are turned on.
Bravo! I love people that really know their sh!t!

When I left Hong Kong, the general timing was 70 seconds, however there is variation on that, depending on the runway and taxiway. The timing of turning off the stop bar is always problematic. Too early and it will turn on again just as you are lining up. If we leave it until you get closer to the stop bar we get a complaint from the cockpit that we have forgotten to turn it off.
As far as simulators are concerned, any simulator will occasionally have problems with the visuals. (Airport lighting, signage and markings.) I was asked to have a look at the visuals with your 747-8F simulator before it was put into service to check just such matters and there were faults with that. I would have thought that these problems are sorted out during acceptance testing.

The only other option is to fly over from the UK for a day.

They are, but that doesn't stop the authority questioning it some decades after it was approved. Ideally I need someone to confirm if the greens continue THROUGH the red bar or if the greens get chopped off when the timing is up. I only need to supply a little evidence to resolve the query, hence asking on this page.

Buzz, i'm not sure that applies to taxiways that are used to enter the runway rather than leave it.
I'm pretty sure the "centreline green" lights are just green when lining up at 07R, and for what it's worth to the OP, IIRC from my last night departure, once the stop lights are on, the greens disappear.

The only time you will see alternating Green & Yellow lights is when you vacate the runway. For example, if you are landing 25L and roll to the end to vacate on K1, you will see alternate Green & Yellow. If the Stop Bar is turned off and you are lining up 07R, you will see only Green Lights. The yellow lights are uni-directional and the other side of those lights is uni-directional Green. All other lights are omni-directional Green. This means that wether you see alternate Yellow/Green or all Green is dependant on wether you are vacating or lining up.
All specifications for Runway Lighting, and markings and signs are found in ICAO Annex 14 Volume 1 (Aerodromes). Specific to the original question, lighting is found in Para 5.3.17 & Stop Bars is found in Para 5.3.20. Hong Kong complies with ALL requirements specified in Annex 14. Your company should have a copy of this.
If you have any more queries, PM me and I'll put you in contact with the guy who looked after all of this for CAD from well before Chek Lap Kok was opened.

Doesn’t 07R now have displaced threshold runway painted markings?
I remember no green lights on the runway with the stop-bar on, green only taxi lights follow the yellow taxi line when the stop bar is off.
The prescribed takeoff distance starts at the end of the yellow taxi line, no line up allowance is required on 07R.
From memory a single green light at the extension of J1 and the centre line of the runway 07R.

Here’s a novel idea ... pick up the phone and make a free call to ATC
Do you think THEY might know?
A bit like calling a Jet Blue for NYC approach procedures.
But oooooooh nooooooo we have to reinvent the wheel. EFB’s anyone?
