I've just got off a longhaul flight with EY. It was pretty good. The FA's were fantastic, albeit a little bumbling at times, but very friendly. The CSO was a babe (just my opinion) and as a whole lead the team fantastically. I've lost count of the flights I've done with EK and, if it's my choice, I'll fly EY any day.
Don't know what they are like to work for but the girls seemed content and happy and that put the pax I was around at ease.

Hi Anzkosh,

Congratulations for making it to the final interview, It will take them at least 3 weeks for them to get back to you. You should receive an email saying they are happy to process your application for final approvals and security clearances.

Than 2 weeks later they will either call you to proceed with your medical once you have submitted your medical they will ask you when you want to join the company and send the contract to you via email this is when you can resign. This is the order it happened with me, some cases are different though so best of luck.

Usually, from previous formus I have read they let you know within 1week if you are not successful so "no news is good news"

Etihad Recruitment

Hi Guys!

I have just completed an online application for EY cabin crew.... I was very excited when I sent it off....

I guess I just want to find out the process for the next stages and what I should expect or prepare for..? I used to fly with Virgin for 2 years and left a year ago - but hanging around in Scotland is not very exciting and I miss flying so much....so thought Etihad looked like a great opportunity to get involved in...!

Do I have to book onto an assessment day or will they invite you along....I get easily confused with the different processes for cabin crew recruitment!

Anyone in AUH can say how it is going - what to expect out there.... whats the accommodation like?! Nightlife if any?! I am 24 Scottish male, so am I unlikely to get a look in with a Middle East carrier..?! So many questions...but I thought def def def have to apply! It looks a wicked place to work/live! Hope you are all good - and look forward to hearing back form anyone or all of you!!!

Thumbs up More than a uniform you are wearing your dream!!

Thank you all for the encouragement....However to you all already there wear that uniform and stand tall and proud, more than wearing a uniform you are wearing your dream and this airline is helping you reach your potential to keep dreaming every day!! Boeing, Airbus, long haul, short haul, irate or content passengers, the scene changes, but the dream lives on !

Maybe the next time I am on an EY flight I'll ask if any of you are on board !! If you would like links to my trip reports or photos on my past EY flight PM me.

I didnt make Etihad cut either :(

Hey all,

I went for the Etihad assessment today at the Courtyard at the Marriott here in Toronto, 50 people were anticipated to show and only 19 actually showed up! I was number 7 and didnt make the first cut... I really dont know what it is, could it have been my answers during that 3 minute interview? Did I pick up the wrong object during that interview (I chose the newspaper out of the banana, waterbottle and cell phone. IM absolutely GUTTED......So upset, could anybody tell me why I may have not been chosen???! How is one supposed to improve for next time if you dont know what to improve on?

Hi everyone

Hi guys!

I got the "happy to inform you ----" letter last week, she told me I have to wait
another 3 weeks for the clearance and approval. so from now on, I have
to wait about 10 days or so for the go ahead with the medicals thing.
I hope there will be good news to all of us who are waiting!

Wannabecc

Im sorry to hear that you didn't make it, but I'm sure you will the next time!
You see, I applied for airline CC for the last two years , didn't even
make it through at the first interview a lot of times. But i didn't lose hope
and kept trying and trying waiting for my turn!
Good luck on your next interview!!

Thanks Wannabecc,

Yes I will keep trying. It was just so weird today because I have studied law and just recently completed broadcast journalism and I was never really sure of what I wanted to do for years until today when I learned more of the job, Ive never in my life cried over a job and I found myself completely gutted when I didnt hear my number and balling my eyes out when I got hoome, I shocked myself. For the first time I really know what I want and I didnt get it...lol. But I will take your advice and keep trying!

Does anybody know of the open day with Emirates? Can u just show up? Because I clicked on that link to book a position but it sent me to fill an application out which I already had online a couple months ago, I guess I didnt make that either?

Hi guys,

Veronica1011
Thank you... and good luck with your medicals!

skydoll.6
You don't need an invitation to attend an Emirates open day,but in your case (Canada) I saw on the web site that there is preliminary selections with an agency. I think you should try to contact the recruitment agency, just to be sure if u can just show up !

Been workin with etihad

hi guys

havent been on this site in a long time.... i arrived in AUH in June and just started flying with them... its been ok... trainning was fine but without exaggerating and wanting to scare anyone off... it hasnt all been peaches and cream... if u think that once u get here its all smooth sailing, then think again, and again and again... im not gonna lie, it hasnt been all bad, i have made lots of new friends and the trainners are really nice, but its been one thing after another and the headaches never seem to end. i mean i come from a country where things get done promptly and efficiently and things are well organised, AUH and Etihad are not like this at all. from accomodation to opening up a bank account, to getting paid, to finishing off my medicals, to schooling and to dealing with HR and their false promises, needless to say of another few incidents that happend that i can not say on here. As i said i dont want to piss on anyones grass, or scare anyone off or even be negative about the whole thing, all i will say this, dont expect to much from the company and be prepared for a journey that might not be what u expected. i know this can happen in any company that u work for, i understand that but out of the 10 jobs that i've had in my entire life, this one seems to be the most difficult, and the worst thing is, is that the difficulty isnt the actual job itself, its everything behind the job.
