Etihad Cabin Crew
I have a couple questions about Etihad and cabin crew selection...
1) Are the layovers generally short or long?
2) Do they put the crews in nice hotels?
3) Do the cabin crew/flight crew generally go out together on overnights?
4) Is it a fun environment to work in?
5) Is the pay decent?
6) Where are most of the FA's from?
7) Do they have an age limit?
8) Is appearance important in the hiring process?
Thanks for any input....!

All the best~~
All the best for everyone who applied/going to work for EY. I went to their interview in Sydney couple of months ago. Didnt get offer the job. I'm flying anyway and now I got even better offer... going to UK for 2 yrs... I saw EY crew the other day in Sydney. I have to say its a very good looking crew, nicely fitted uniform, walking together as a group. Very well presented. Wish you all the best. Hopefully will bump into your guys somewhere out there.

medical examination?
hey there guys.
I got an email from Etihad that they want me to process medical examination as they have completed the necessary clearances and approvals. I am based in Sydney and am not sure where I need to do this? Do I have to go to a special doctor or can I do this at any doctors?
Please let me know. Thanks and see you soon

aviation doctor
Hey there your best to go to an aviation doctor rather than your general doctor. As there should be an aviation doctor based at Sydney airport, they can get everything done on the list that needs to be completed and just looks better.

1)Layover can be short or long. They range from a 24hr, to a 4 or 5 day layover. Some times certain sectors are just amazing. Ie.AUH-Brisbane? 2 days off before flight-fly to singapore, 2 days in singapore, fly to brisbane, 2 days in Brisbane, fly back to singapore, 2 day in Singapore, fly back to Auh, 2 days off in Abu Dhabi.
2)Hotels are Generally 4- 5 stars. Ie.London Crown Plaza has a seperate lounge with net access and tv, refreshments for Cabin Crew only.
3)Yeah, Capt. First officer and crew usaully head out together, but its up to you whether u wanna go or not..
4)Environment? Well...training might be a bit daunting, but flying is ultimately what u make it. You can't have EVERYONE agree with you, so it's like any other job as far as people (crew/guests) are concerned. The actual work environment is fun.
5)If Im not mistaken we are one of the top paid F.A.s in the biz. You have paid for housing and transport, and electricity, and water, and uniform dry cleaning...so, its not bad at all. The pay you earn is basically....just money to have fun wit or save.
6)The FAs are from EVERYWHERE. I think we now have 98 nationalities.
7)As far as age limit goes, it varies. Based on personal appearance, personality, experience. ie. They could have a slightly older person who looks amazing and has flown before...
8)Appearance is SUPER important. Despite what some people say or show up, it is vital to how you dress, your grooming (hair, nails, BREATH)
I hope I got most of your questions.

Anyone planning on attending the Cabin Crew Assessment in Toronto next week?
I'm very excited about the invite I received. Anyone have any tips/advice on what to expect/prepare, etc. I havent been to a group assessment before, however, I have had other individual airline interviews and was a FA about 2 years ago.

Etihad in Toronto
Hi Ashley11
I'm going to the assessment day for Etihad in Toronto as well. I flew with Australian Airlines for 2 1/2 years and I remember that their recruitment was group assessments. The things I took were just my basic portfolio of references, letters and resume with cover letter. I know that Etihad already has your resume and/or cover letter, but it's best to bring the one you posted on their site. You should also bring two telephone references from previous employers. The group assessment for Australian Airlines was just group activities, a 2 on 1 interview and a knowledge test of general aviation. Try to research as much as you can on Etihad. The more you know the better your interview will go.

Thanks so much for the info. Much appreciated.
I'm still waiting for an email back, but do you have an idea of how long it will be? I saw on the website it started at 8:30. Since I dont live in Toronto, I'll be flying there, and I have to be back home that Friday evening. Hopefully I'll hear from them soon!

Thanks Philippe747...Two months is the norm I guess..I haven't read most of these posts so I can't recall if you are cc already. I have applied with EY and would like to get an invitation to the interviews...with no past cc experience and already 38 I am wondering if I'll ever see my dream of being a flight attendant...Have flown with EY and they are a great airline...The flight on EY was while they transited at Brussels. Cheers to all those already with EY and those getting there.

Hi guys,
I got the go ahead to have my medical. they told me not to resign until i sign the offer of employement but yesterday i got a phonecall from them asking me when can i start and would i be ready by 16th september. i didnt think i would be offered it until I passed the medical. Is this normal or has anyone else had the same kind of call??
In the medical did people go ahead with the vaccinations before they got the job offer?
Also do you know whether Etihad pay for our flights out to Abu Dhabi when we first go out there to start?
Thanks
