Yes, I made it! I got the letter today from Emirates. To be honest I never thought I did a good impression at the final stage. I thought it went very bad and felt all miserable about it because I was so nervous. I'm so lucky you have no idea!

Congrats Mathilda. Elena, looks like you and I are in the same boat.
Damn I had my final interview at the start of May and I got an email from a rec. coordinator at the start of June saying I was 'successful as a candidate' or something similar, and to wait for a start date to be assigned (because no training groups are available). That was 5 or 6 weeks ago now and I'm still waiting
It's really driving me nuts as I want to get on with my life. Am I going to start new projects at work or wind the old ones up and train my replacement? My apartment lease is up on August 25, will I be moving to Dubai, staying here, moving to cheaper accomodation while I wait to go? Who knows? I don't much like the town I've been living in for the past couple of years; do have to languish here another blistering humid summer? I honestly expected to be on my way by now.
From the invitation to the preliminary interviews to now has been almost 4 months. Is the Great Emirates Waiting Game gonna consume my life for 6 months? More? We're not getting any younger...
And where's JonBoy these days?

You can either go to a scheduled open house that's stated on their website or fill out an on-line application form. But just to tell you, all open houses right now that were origanlly planned are post-poned. Don't know when they will resume.

Hi budgie!!
I know how fustrating this wait can be.. But remember you are in a much better position then many of us here waiting... you've got your answer and u know you're in.. Now it can take a while till they place u for training, as it's a critical time for emirates...they slowed down the trainning in Dubai due to various reasons, which i am sure you know allready.. Just be patient... your turn will come soon... The worst part it's over.. just think abt the amazing fact that YOU'VE GOT THE JOB! Try to enjoy the time you have left and relax..
Johnboy IS MORE THEN FINE THESE DAYS.. ENJOYING ))

You just have to wait, all crew do, i had to wait 3mths before I got here early last year. Recruitment has slowed down at the moment due to us have 400 extra crew in economy, but that will change in the coming months with more aircraft and destinations starting. We are now back to 15 new crew a week starting as apose the 60 a week, and now have 4 groups of upgrades a week instead. The heat has no effect over the process as its part of every day life each summer. Also accom. is a big problem, we have ONE more building being built currently and some more planned. You dont stay in dorms either, there is a training college dorm for training school but once you are online you move into your apartment, due to the lack of accom. for new crew, there are still some crew living there and flying. As of march next year, 2 new planes will arrive every month until 2010. So the recrutiment drive should speed up more later this year

stop complaining, you will come when you come, if you dont like not knowing things.. then dubai is not the place for you. most crew have to wait.. its just the process, we are only taking 15 crew a week now, so i would say you are waiting a while as we need to upgrade more crew for the business and first class cabins.. we have 400 extra crew in economy and are not getting the flying hours we need. this will change in the next few months with more planes coming

Visa?
I was reading at the FAQ's question part of the careers website on emirates.com and I saw this question if Emirates will take care of your visa if you came from an overseas location and it said, "This does apply for cabin crew, only flight deck crew only." I always thought that EK will take care of your visa. Is this true?

If you've got the job, then of course emirates is taking care of your employment visa.. but they DO NOT arrange for your visa if you are travelling for a cabin crew interview in Dubai.

Hey there I had my final interview with Emirates on the 12th of June in Perth. Anyone else in a similar situation?
As yet i have had no reply from them and i have been checking my email religiously. Some of the people from my interview have already heard that they have been unsucessful.
I have called the Recruitment numbers which they gave me but they constantly ring out and i have left a voicemail for them.
I understand that they are probably busy but i just cant wait to hear back from them. Excited.

Hey there,
Today i got an email from emirates saying that my application was being reveiewed but it is curently pending.
It told me that they would be in contact with me within the next three months, and not to contact them.
Has enyone else been in a similar situation to this? What does it mean?

Or as somebody mentioned earlier, they have a huge amount of applications to go through and don't want to be "disturbed".
Elena, I had mine in Europe, but not in Poland! Have you heard anything yet?

I hear talk that you'll hear from them sooner if the answer is no. If they're making you wait more than 6 weeks you need to call for an answer and it will probably be good. But like everyone says, don't expect to be starting soon even if you get a 'yes'.

Hi Everybody!
I just got the same letter as Perthflyer101..
"Thank you for the time you have invested in attending our selection and interview process for the position of Cabin Crew.
We wish to inform you that your application for Cabin Crew is currently being reviewed and will be kept pending for a period of 3 months. This is due to the large number of applications we have on hand.
We will continue to hold your application on file till such time and would appreciate if you could update us if any changes occur in your personal information and contact details.
Whilst we may contact you earlier, please anticipate up to a 3 month timeframe before you receive further communication regarding your application"
Nothing else to say...will see what this means in 3 months time, if they'll ever get back to us..

Good news is that means you're still in the race and you know how long you have to wait. Thanks to these forums we all know why as well. So how bad you you want it?
In my case I seem a little further along - having been 'successful' in my interviews - but I have been essentially told to wait indefinitely until training courses start. No time frame for me baby and I ain't getting any younger.
On the good side, when I'm a geriatric and I finally get accepted, I can lean on the dinner trolly as I stagger up the aisle.
