My course starts on April 3rd but when I told them that I already held an airside pass I was told it didn't matter, they must run all the reference checks again. Should I be worried?

BA Cabin Crew Applications
Last September I applied to BA for Permanent Eurofleet Cabin Crew LHR, got to the interview but was unsuccessful. In my email reply saying this is states that: "Should you wish to re-apply for a similar position again the the future, please note that we cannot accept another application within one year".
However having spoke to a friend who flies BA Eurofleet he said that he knows of someone who was unsuccessfull at the first interview and reapplied again within only a few months and got a 6 month contract job. My friend seems to think that I can apply for the 6 month Cabin Crew position too.
Does anyone else know of anything like this happening?
Thanks, abz lewis

Hi jennileewilliams
You have to click the upper part named vacany search on that web page...then a search window appears. You type in cabin crew in the last box and click search...you should come up with two choices LGW permanent or LHR temporary 6 mths. Click the one that suites you better and proceed to the bottom of the page where you click apply button. Of course reading everything on that page.
That should bring you to your on-line application.
Good Luck
PM me if you still can't do it. Will be happy to help when I find some time
Kind regards
L.

About the interview, I had mine this week so it's all fresh in my mind!
When you get there you get to reception where you'll be asked to handover documentation, they'll go and ohotocopy it and bring it back. You take a seat and wait for people to arrive and it's obvious who is there for interviews, conversations start between candidates so it's really nice.
Next you'll get measured (shoes off) then you are asked to sit in a crew seat with the harness on and to brace. They just need to see that you fit the seat and that you can bring your arms up for the brace position.
You are then split into groups for your group assessment (4-5 peeps) where you will be asked to read some info then as a group discuss what you are going to do. What's important here is that you are listening to others using recaps and summaries eg "so what we're saying is", "do we agree that...."
Try and include the more shy members in your group, bring them into the discussion, eveyone has name badges on so it's easy to use their names.
There are recruiters on the corners of the room making notes as you progress through the activity, aparently the observer facing you is the one 'marking' you.
After the group stuff you wait in the reception area and some go off for a presentation about the company and others are called for the 2-1 interview. If you go for the interview first then you'll get the presentation after and vice versa.
The interview: takes about 40mins and they are really lovely. You'll be asked to use examples that are not already on your form. They will ask you why you want to work for BA and what you know about BA, nothing tricky at all. Just relax, don't rush in with a rambling answer.
Good luck

Found out today. At end of 6 months temp contract at WWLHR you will get option to leave or to transfer to Gatwick Single fleet. No transfer to EFLHR or staying on, as all positions will be filled by incoming WWLGW crew.

Hmmm good question. I'm afraid I don't have an answer as I didn't know there were EFLHR temp contracts as well. I would have asked.
WWLGW crew now have amoungst other options the choice of chosing to transfer to WWLHR or EFLHR. Also all secondees and recent new joiners to WWLGW will be sent back to EFLHR without choice as per their agreements.
WWLHR temps are a stop gap until their spaces are filled by WWLGW crew, I would guess EFLHR temps are the same.
Therefore I would guess they would be offered the same deal.
If I hear I will let you know.

Well lets put it this way.
BA has made provision for 35 Man Power Equivalent spaces at the new LGW Fleet who will be from WWLGW. These people will accept a "buy down" of their current contract and go onto the nearest pay increment in the new fleet within their rank (CSD would become CM), and keeping their seniority. They would then accept being on the new LGW fleet T&C's.
As you can see BA has not anticipated there to be a big take up of this offer. The union echoed this sentiment.
The majority are expected to request transfer to WWLHR. All requests will be accomadated. To make this easier opportunities for part-time and unpaid leave will be made available.
