Great then! I had my interview nov 2003. Clearly this is one of the things that has changed and improved, even if most of it is the same.
Good news then!

I had an interview in Summer 2004 and all my certificates were scrutinised and copied.

I have another interview on Monday and they haven't mentioned bringing the certificates at all.

tart 1; Hi there, I had my interview on Tuesday, and as my GCE certificates were from the dark ages and have been lost in the mists of time, I didn't produce any on the day, and they were ok with that. Good luck for Monday!

Is there a Maths test on the assessment day? I don't see it mentioned on the information.
I would be grateful to know and also what form it takes.
I have clicked on the self-help psychometric tests and found the questions to be quite advanced (or is that just me?)

Wink WW LHR

HELLO ALL U PEOPLE APPLYING FOR BA... WELL AS IT STANDS, MOST OF THE PEOPLE ON A TEMPORARY CONTRACT WILL BE GOING STRIGHT INTO WORLDWIDE LHR... SOME INTO EUROFLEET LHR.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN AT THE END OF CONTRACT TERM IS TO BE SEEN, HOWEVER I TRULEY BELIEVE YOU WILL BE KEPT ON, IF NOT ON WW MAYBE SHIPPED ONTO EUROFLEET LHR AND AT THE WORST SENARIO INTO ONEFLEET AT LGW! SO WHAT I SAY THE CALL IS YOURS... ITS A FOOT IN THE DOOR TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT IT'S UP TO YOU BUT WORTH IT!

TRUE SOURCE FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS ABOUT RECRUITMENT AT BA! GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!

Hi Flyerlad

Thanks for that info. But I'm still sceptical on that last part....As I heard on many posts, BA management assured BASSA at their last meeting, talks...whatever you call it, that new 6 mths entrants won't be staying at LHR WW, so is this something new?

Flyme69, don't worry, LHR is great...NSP contract conditions for the first 6 months...are great as so many people have already mentioned...we'll all be just fine...I'll let you know if something alluring comes along

Brgds

There are waiting lists in place for existing crew to change fleets (WW to EF and LGW to LHR and vice versa...).

The agreements (also in place with the unions) are that the waiting lists are exhausted before before new entrants are taken on. This agreement, for whatever reason is being 'excused' at the moment.

So, if you have been lucky enough to join BA on a temporary contract, when discussing your wishes to be made permanent, please be considerate to existing permanent crew who are still on waiting lists.

LHR temps

guys,i d like to say that i am one of the new entrants on a 6 month contract likely to go on WW fleet.I do realise that this ba decision to put temp staff directly to WW fleet has made a lot of the perm staff unhappy but we are not to take the blame. We did not make the rules and we are the ones who take the risk of being unemployed after 6 months.I am hoping that when we come online, the BA crew will always be professional and willing to help us and wont really take out on us any frustration for a decision that was not made by us!I wish all the new guys best of luck and i cant wait to fly with the world's best airline.xx

No one at BA is going to blame new entrants for jumping ahead of existing crew and going straight into longhaul. 99% of BA crew, even 99.99% are mature and bright enough to understand that what is going on has nothing to do with the wishes of new entrants at all, so please don't worry on this count. We look forward to welcoming you aboard the fleet.

Second thing to say with regards to some new entrants going to LHR shorthaul...it's true, some courses have been shunted into shorthaul, but only a minority.

Don't ask about what is going to happen after 6 months...NO ONE, not even recruitment really know...yet. Decisions have been made and reversed in the past, sometimes in quick succession; that's the norm at BA. If you've been accepted, congratulations. Don't worry about the details too much, just enjoy the network, the planes and the new uniform. We've got a great bunch of crew, you're in for some laughs and good times...whichever fleet you're on.

Question b.a EF vs. WW?! decisions decisions!?!

I, like, FlyMe69 have just recieved a phone call from B.A recruitment offering the start date of 24th April, and was told that it was going to be EF and not WW as had been stated in the interview..My financial decision on taking the job was based on the information on the average earnings on WW fleet (and being able to see the world a bit). However, now this has changed to EF i was wondering if anyone could give me some information on average take home on EF compared to WW as this will make the difference on whether i take the job or not..
Is it the luck of the draw that some of us have been bumped onto EF or is there secret agenda to all this?
Also, knowing that every month will not have the same roster, and as i had, again, in the interview been given an example of what the typical WW fleet roster would consist of, could anyone give me an idea of what its like on EF?
please get back to me a.s.a.p because i will have to let them know soon..
thanks guys and gals

eurofleet is great, u will earn good!!! some months the same as ww, some months more and some months a little less. some courses have been sent to euro as they have taken more people off the xfer list so u are filling in the gaps there. we were told the first 2 ww courses were gonna be eurofleet. rumour has it that more courses are going to be sent to euro now. this is ba it wouldnt be unusual to turn up on ur first day and be told oh its eurofleet now - sorry!!!
on euro u get to bid for work, there are 1 day trips, ( ther and backs) 2 and 3 day trips.
at the end of the day its BA and ur lucky to be offered a position!!!
