Accomodation 25 min drive s LGW
Hi I have two single rooms avail (£75/wk incls) in a nice furnished house in Henfield village overlooking fields, 25min drive s of Gatwick. Looking for non-smoking crew. I'm a longhaul commuter, so around 6-7 nights/month. Henfield has local amenities: shops, pubs, leisure center, drycleaner. Hourly bus to Horsham and Brighton, Train to LGW from Horsham. Text me for more info. Jeremy 07884120115 or email [email protected]

Hi Eddy
I don't think that an expedite course is possible. First and mostly because of all the JAA rules and requirements-JAR. The course needs to last that long. And to be quite frank i think all the Temp entrants will stay at BA, cause It would be a definite waste of BA's money and in these sort of times when the industry is always on the lookout how to save and achieve best cost cutting, I don't think it would be the BA's best solution.
Good luck to all new entrants to BA....We'll have the best time with this company

BA LGW shorthaul vs LHR shorthaul
Hi, I've recently been offered LGW crew however, I live near LHR! I have been advised they will keep me on the waiting list until LHR comes out however, they have explained they do not think it will be out within the year. (they only keep you on file for 1 year)
Does anyone have any advice as to what commuting is like for LHR-LGW and what the average pay for LGW short haul crew is or just ANY information on the whole Onefleet and rumours about LHR?
Much appreciated

Hi,
I sit at the other end of the plane, but having worked out of both LGW and LHR, and having friends at both, I would suggest you wait for LHR.
If you take LGW you will be commuting for a long time!
Good luck

Hiya there, as someone who is currently at LGW (Longhaul) I can tell you that if you went to LGW Shorthaul you will go onto the Single Fleet when it comes around. BA are starting to shift the current Longhaul people who want to move to LHR in October this year and are due to finish next year Feb. So even though you are entering as Shorthaul you will end up doing both. As for LHR vs LGW there are no guarantees .... if BA hire you then you go where they can fit you in and not necessarily where you want to go. They will of course attempt to satisfy your requests but at the end of the day operational needs will always come first at the airline. Hope this helps .... any other questions let me know. Good luck!!!

Accomodation at LGW
I start my training with BA in June and am looking to move to LGW anytime around the 10th June and although over a month away am starting to look for accomodation.
Ideally would like a (nice) room in the Horley area, but as long as it is near public transport anywhere near LGW would be good!
Message me if you have any ideas or want more info!
Many thanks.

BA LGW Training
Hi does anyone know anything about training at LGW for BA. I was told originally that it was at Cranebank near LHR however, when they contacted me yesterday they said it had been moved to LGW?
Also, does anyone know what areas are nice to live in between LHR and LGW but not Crawley! I don't want to move too far from LHR.
Thanks
Ang

Customer service and avmed will be at hangar 6 at LGW.
SEP will be at Cranebank and you will get accomadation.
As for where to live I'm afraid I can't help you there.
Still no answer on what will happen to the LHR temps I'm afraid. the concensus at Cranebank is that you will be offered LGW or the door.
However at my Cabin Manager workshop today when I asked the question I was told there were no plans to bring any temps from LHR to LGW.
So I'm sorry guys...I don't know.
My advice, as always would be to get on the phone to recruitment, or if you are on-line ask your owning manager.
I agree that after going through the cost of training you they will not want to just show you the door, especially as we need 700 new crew at LGW. But as I have said before the likelyhood of you getting kept on at WWLHR at least is slim as you have all the WWLGW crew transferring there in OCT.
Plus the union would get lynched by it's members if it allowed that to happen as well.
But hey....time will tell, and things change daily. Just be realistic and be prepared for ANYTHING.
Good luck all
