Hi there and well done. Can I ask if you just received the medical email today and what day was your Assessment Day? You have stated July 16th however that was a Saturday. Mine was July 15th in Mel so I am wondering if we attended the same day? Also did you get the active hold emails sent of late too?

I'll let you know about the base and fleet as soon as I find out and, during the training, raise a few questions about future trainings which might help you get some prospective on what's ahead.
I'm looking forward to meeting you up there, sooner or later! Feel free to PM me if anything.
Khoi, keep your head up! It's around the corner and you've got it this time!
Mn64, you've been amazing this entire recruitment! Your journey was incredible to read! And I just know you're next! Waiting 4 U!!!
Kevinsmiley, you amazing little creature who wears a heart on his sleeve, you're such an honest open person! You'll be great at this job! Gonna keep on cheering for you, matey!
Ains76, you've probably received a job offer by now! Wishing you all the best for your training! If you start on the 30th, we might be batchmates!
And the rest of you guys, all the best to you all! Just hang in there and don't give up! Everything changes so fast. Two weeks ago I was on active hold and look how quickly that changed. Still can't believe it! So don't lose hope and think positive!
Thank you for your kind words and support, princ! Looking forward to hearing about the next stage of your journey, and eventually meeting in the skies!!

Yes you could be right Mn64. Hopefully you and I are not far away, talk about a roller-coaster of emotions... I swear it would be easier and quicker to get into the FBI than Qantas lol...

Its so hard to make any sense or order of this process whatsoever. I have specified 1 weeks notice, have submitted all the required docs, had glowing references, have 10 years as a Cabin Manager and ggggrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh still waiting...

I had the same theory all along, but don't think it's alphabetical 'cause my surname starts with a V.

Great news Dinc !! Wishing you the best of luck for ground school and for your new start with Qantas. I haven't got an offer yet (am still shocked I have got this far). They have rung and asked how much notice I have to give but that's down to when my airport manager can release me & of course getting the final clearance from QF medical team. Hope your training is in Sydney

Hello there
Water cert can be done at any swimming pool. Just download the form on their websites and then bring to any swimming pool and let the guards know you need to do it and they will monitor you while you swim the required parts! Haha. Hopefully you get this done asap and perhaps meet you the ground school on 22nd!

With the vaccinations, I had a blood test as a part of the medical to show what I needed. Once I got the vaccination required I scanned a copy of the certificate and sent it to the doctor, then they sent my results to QF. I think it was called a serology blood test? Your doctor will know what it is. I'd been vaccinated again MMR, Hep B, and Chicken pox previously thankfully.

Only time will tell if it's more active hold, or a ground school. Its felt like the amazing race, or something along those lines!
You will get a golden call next week maybe I got my call 4 days after I have done all my medicals! Wish to hear great news from you soon and see you at the ground school!!!

Hi VIVVYX3,

Thank you for ur information;-)
I think i won't make it for Nov intakes, tho QF have asked to give resignation notice to my current employer less than 3wks, and its not possible,:-(
I don't want to resign now and later they reject my application. This is happened to one of my friends.

What happened to your friend?
And did qf offer you a date?
If you have a look way back in the forum, there was a discussion about pay and conditions

He passed the ASIC screening, then he thought that he got it and he resigned.
After few days he received unsuccessful email.

Hello there
If you have your medical checks done, usually will be able to get the offer I assume? If you really keen for this job, you should send off all your medical checks first and wait around 4-6 days, they will let you know the outcome! Yet it really depends on you if you could resign in within 1 weeks time from now on... cause it starts on 22nd! But it all depends on you

Hello everyone..
Just a curious question, due to personal issue, I will need to take a day off during the EP training.. do you think that would be possible :S? I am planning to let the trainer know on the first day of work... is that the best possible solution?

Thank you

Hi all!

So I had a voicemail left on my phone Monday afternoon from Qantas Recruitment asking me to call back. By the time I finished work it was too late, so I called Tuesday morning.

I've just been successful for Melbourne base starting 24th November! No idea what aircraft/s, or if training will be here in Melbourne or interstate. I cannot believe it's finally happened, almost a year to the day since I applied. I don't think it's quite hit yet. But I think it's about to. I'm just about to go and hand my resignation in with 6 days notice, for my new job where I've been for only 3 weeks :o! But that's life for you!

When I was moved to 'hired' in the system, 2 emails were automatically generated that my 'application had been withdrawn'. I've been reassured this is an IT error. I'm certainly not going to withdraw it after all of this!

For all of those still on hold, or going through the processes, hang in there, I know it's hard. I used to fly for another airline, and if you haven't flown before, you will find it is such an amazing career. It's a fantastic industry, and once you get used to it, you'll never want to leave!
