Hi all! I received an exciting call yesterday from QF congratulating me and advising ground school begins on October 19th. Location for training TBA in due course, offer is for Sydney base. Hang in there, as I understand there are more ground schools coming up for Sydney base for November and onwards. Best of luck!

Hi Kevinsmiley,
I'm in the same boat as you. I attended the AD in Sydney on the 30th of Aug and had XRef confirm my reference checks were completed by the 2nd of Sep. I was feeling a little impatient so I politaly emailed Qantas HR in question of my application status and they responded very promptly thanking me for my patience and enthusiasm and explained that they are still working through the internal processes and that they will update me in due course. They reassured me that this email does not at all mean that I have been unsuccessful and wished me a good weekend which was nice!
So here's to more waiting! Haha if you want to chat anymore feel free to pm me 😊

Congratulations Skysailing88! I too got the 'active hold' email on Friday. Who knows what will happen going forward. I'm sure we will all get there and finally get that 'golden call'. We're all in this together .

There was also a MEL based person on here who decided to go for Virgin due to this long wait... Or maybe got an unsuccessful email, I can't remember the nickname, maybe you'll have GS together.. If I recall it good, you already worked for QF, so I'm sure you've made the right decision and I'm so happy for you! Wishing you all the best!
Kevinsmiley, my husband's friend was on AD in Syd a bit after you had yours in Mel, and she also hasn't received any news. Just wanted to let you know, so you don't worry or think it's a bad sign!

Active hold!
Hey everyone, so lovely to find a forum and to know a lot of others are on the same page lol! I applied as a flight attendant for qantas link Sydney base. A few days later I received an email to book in for my assessment day but before that do the hogan assessment and video interview. Got an email from xref a few days after the AD and both my references completed it promptly. Yesterday I received an email telling me I was now on active hold and can be so for a period of up to 12 months while I wait for a ground school in Sydney. Still no asic or medical checks though. Does anybody know the chances of actually starting ground school after being on active hold?

Hi everyone,
All of my pre-employment checks were completed 5 weeks ago so I've been waiting patiently (anxiously) for what feels like a lifetime! It all paid off because this morning I received my golden call with offer of employment starting on 2nd November in Sydney!!!!!
Stay strong because as soon as you receive your call with start date you'll immediately forget about any negative thoughts or feelings you may have had.
I definitely know how soul-killing the waiting game can be but believe me it's worth it and I can't wait for you all to feel how I'm feeling right now xxx

I am so grateful for everyone on this forum, I feel for those people that haven't discovered it and surely must be wondering what's going on, how other people are progressing etc. Knowing we are all in the same boat makes the waiting much easier!

Just a moment ago, I'm gratefully received the updating phone call from Qantas asking for my first aid certificate and reassuring me that they are just waiting for my medical result to be reviewed by the team. Also, the lady asked me about how long do I need to give notice to my current job. I told her that I'm ready to start straight away hahaha... Fingers crossed!!! Hope the golden offer phone call will be just there!!!
