Kellbell, you need to use the Qantas I.D services link (the security check email). Then once you have logged in, choose the 'current application status' option, and you'll be able to see the checkpoints

Hi all!

I'm new here . I'm currently waiting to hear about Melbourne base. A bit of a breakdown of my journey so far:

25th November 2015: Submitted application.
5th February 2016: Email advising I would be placed on hold.
26th April 2016: Courtesy email advising I was still on active hold, no dates for recruitment yet.
11th June 2016: Emails for video interview, online assesment, and invitation to an Assesment Day June 22nd.
24th June 2016: Email advising I was proceeding to Reference Checks.
20th July 2016: Email advising I was going to receive Xref link.
21st July 2016: Received Xref link.
23rd July 2016: Xref checks completed.
28th July 2016: First ASIC application email.

With my ASIC, this took a while. I needed to convert my NZ drivers license to an AUS one for the 100 points of ID. I also had to request my Criminal Conviction History from NZ, and this took a month to arrive. I received a couple of phone calls during this time asking if I'd completed it, and I explained what was happening. They were very understanding.

1st September 2016: ASIC application complete
10th September 2016: Final Qantas Security Clearance green 'tick'

'Card ready for printing' still shows as a red cross at the mo. So I'm just waiting to see as to where to from here in regards to a medical etc. Anyone else in the same boat?

Welcome, cca320!! May I ask, when you got the hold email in February, had you already done the AD, XREF, ASIC process? Or have you had to do it just once?

Hi and welcome CCA320. I too have applied for Melb base and after having all my ASIC ticks done (3 weeks ago ish) I then rec'd email 26/8/16 saying I was on "active hold". If I progress further then I believe a medical request email would follow. I believe they are finalising apps/training dates etc at the moment. If you view previous posts you will be able to view my timeline too. Fingers crossed for all of us we get some good news soon.

Welcome to all the new members! You'll find everything you need here! And an endless amount of support!
Since there's a pattern of repeating the same information over and over again, I suggest we all first try to go back 5-10-15 pages to see if we can first try to find the info ourselves before posting a question... Not all cases are isolated or unique and there's a big number of forum members on here who probably already had the same doubt/problem/query before and maybe their earlier post can offer a good answer.
Just a thought...
Moving on!...
Kevin, hap-hap-happy you passed the AD and you're on Xref! I really liked how honest you were through your posts and something tells me you'd be that one crew onboard who keeps the spirits up when we're all tired from a never ending ULR. Sometimes, after 9days rotation, I needed those like you to keep me going! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, matey and maybe, as slow as things are going ATM, we'll meet during GS! If we make it! We will! WE ALL WILL!
Cocoana, thinking of you! Now more than ever, 'cause I've just landed into MEL and about to stay here till Oct. I remembered how you said there are only 3 places to do medical checks in, two of which are closed! Hahaha! If, by some miracle I get the medical email, I hope you don't mind if I PM you on here to tell me of that open one.
Croissant2016,
thank you for posting that! Have you started GS? I remember you received GS dates back in August...If you did, may I ask are you being trained on Main Fleet? Tnx

Thanks @Mn64 When I was put on hold in February I hadn't done anything yet, luckily I've only had to do it all once. @Sarah77 Thank you Absolutely, hopefully medical next but I'm not getting my hopes up as anything could happen. We all know the wait is hard, but as you say hopefully we will get some news soon!

I had an little bit update on my application. This morning, I received the phone call from HR. That she says because I work for QGS (Qantas Ground Services) at the moment, they need the reference from my manager. (To avoid the problems, I didn’t use QGS as my reference)
My offical manager who manage entire Sydney base for the QGS and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t know me in person. However, I still send a msg to him, and he replied that if he’s happy to give a reference as long as I served in QGS for 12 months. Then I text him back that I am actually on the casual basis and I applied thru externally. And the fact there’s no restriction clause on my employment agreement. (Permanent position do have 12 months restriction for internal transferring) then, he didn’t reply to me.
However, I still need to email his detail to HR as reference, because that’s what they r asking… Not sure my boss would do it as a favour or not...

That sounds tricky, hopefully it'll all go smoothly but it's great that they are sorting out your application

Just wondering if that's possible say I applied for Melbourne base, but instead of going to Melbourne GS, would they send me to other city for training? Haha, just a bit curious. I remember I saw a video clip on youtube and there is a lady actually went to Sydney for GS, but not sure if she had applied for Sydney base though.

I think they'll just send you where they want you to go. Perhaps Sydney has the best training facilities
