Jetstar Auckland
Hi all... I had an assessment/interview in September , now just 2 days ago (25th oct 2010) received an email regarding the delay in ground school and that my application has been placed on hold ??. 
I just want to know if anyone else is on the same boat as me and where I get the RSA certificate from. Do I do the security and medical now or do I wait for the call??. And also there was this website everyone got during the interview process to register my details online...it was for the ministry something something lol,
does anyone know what website it is....
anyone's input would be a great help...IM EXCITED

I was in the Christchurch Assessment with Jetstar. What was the original date for your Ground School? We were told it would be mid January. My reference checks have only just been done, and I haven't heard anything else yet. I wonder do they combine Christchurch and Auckland recruits in the same ground school?
And that website, I wrote it down! But I can't find it - oops! Ill keep looking and put it up if I find it. I did an RSA online, but I think I have to do it again. They said don't use a Queensland RSA, I think Melbourne is preferred because it doesn't need to be renewed. Just google RSA certificate, and pick one that is Melbourne based. It took me about an hour, it costs around $100 think.

Hay SophieRose, they did not give me a date for ground school...just emailed me that I would get a call once the date for GS has been confirmed. I think they might combine depending if it's only based here in Auckland. Other recruits were trained in Oz but that was when Jetstar 1st started here in nz. Yeah same here...I wrote the website down, now it's long gone lol 
. Did you get an email for medical and security yet??. Im booked in for first aide on Sat & Sun ($180 from redcross)...now gonna get onto doing my rsa....fanx for the info

Here are the links you need - RSA course and govt.co.nz. I haven't had an outcome email yet, expecting something this week, hopefully! Interesting you do the training in Auckland? We were told ground school is in Melbourne, for three weeks, so they must be separate. Good luck with everything, the first aid course and RSA are pretty easy

Heya, I havent heard anything about the delay in Ground School
As far as I know Im still starting on the 15th, When did you go to the Recruitment day? Was it the Auckland one?

How long did it take for jetstar to contact you after your reference checks, and after the interview, to forward you on to medical/security? they told us (Christchurch) it would take 2 weeks, but it's heading into 3-4 weeks now...

Business attire I guess it is.... yeah very vague.. Excited also.. cant wait to get back in the sky! See you! you been to the training centre before? I can give directions if you need them.
Sophierose, i think it depends on how easy they get hold of your referees.. I was wondering myself if it would ever come about - being contacted again. but all good in the end. You could email and see how they are getting along? It shows you are keen!

SophieRose- It took about 2 weeks before I had my call.
Flyboy01- Yep, I've been there before its gonna be a bit of a mission
with all the traffic argh! It was pretty vague though.

Hi and thanks for your reply. I know of one other person from Christchurch, referees checked and all good but still waiting for an outcome.... He has emailed them but no response. I guess no news is still good news at this stage, our ground school isn't until January.

JSB yeah, flew for 4 years with the RNZAF on the 757-200.. same but different i guess you can say.. lookin forward to a new experience and meeting lotsa new people.

Hey Guys, waiting must suck, but like you said no news is good news.... When i interviewed for JQ in Jan 09 i didnt hear back till mid march!!
So keep hanging in, it is well worth the wait. The Jetstar NZ Crew are some of the most amazing people i have ever met!

The waiting was worth it! A positive result... I made it! SO EXCITING! Doing my medical next week, sent off all the security forms, it's definitely all moving ahead towards the goal. Our training starts mid-January
