One for the weekend - tho I don't expect it to last long

The white tipped nose was not its most outstanding feature.
|
First thought was a Miles Student.
Second thought - the Custer CCW-5. Third thought was technically what we see could also be described as the Baumann B-290 Brigadier - or did Custer alter the nose? Fourth thought - sit back and enjoy a mid-morning Saturday cuppa. |
Could it be?
Piaggio(?),an italian job?
|
Lock me in for my second thought above - Custer CCW-5.

Thought it looked familiar, not from my limited experience, but from a few pages back ;o)
|
I'll be up bright and early tomorrow to call the result.........
|
Yes the Custer.... what a mad idea!!
Over to Noyade https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....4518b08301.jpg |
|
Very neat
I'm sure I've seen this before somewhere - German? Austrian?? I keep thinking Bucker...... |
USA mate...
|
Maybe some visual clues will help? You will find it in Aerofiles.
Manufacturer... https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....3d7f2bcc28.jpg Name... https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....b506c41326.jpg |
Friday afternoon. I think it's time to shut this one down.
Twas the Viking Kittyhawk. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viking_B-8_Kittyhawk Open House. :ok: |
You got a winner there Noyade. It’s not often that a post defeats the collective PPRuNe wisdom!
Here’s an aircraft I have just seen in the flesh for the first time. I’ve never seen a four-bladed prop on such a small aircraft. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....00c70b532.jpeg |
Looks a bit sporty......... presumably not a standard configuration for the type?
|
Looks like a WarpDrive prop. Recent mod to an older design?
|
I'll suggest a Bellanca Cruisair?
|
DownWest,
I’m pretty sure you are correct. Treadders, Wrong side of the pond. I’ll reveal a little more skin! https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....2eec74668.jpeg |
Looks like a modified`Emeraude`.....
|
... that's because it is a modified Emeraude! :)
https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....34d537736.jpeg A homebuilt CP328 Super Emeraude, first registered in 1990. I spotted it last week at Grande Prairie airport, where I was participating in a SAREX. Does anyone know if there is a benefit to adding a four-bladed prop to such a low-powered engine? sycamore has control. |

I looked at this last night - but the cockpit detail kept throwing me off the scent. |
Thanks chaps,but sorry ,it`ll be `Open House`....
|
|
Background reminds me of The Great Waldo Pepper and the WW1 filming scenes - any connection? Only German type I recall though was the Triplane and it aint that!
|
Is that a Stampe in the background?
The white aircraft looks like a fairly modern taildragger. The terrain could be California or Arizona. |
I thought New Zealand and then wallabies and wombats.
De Havilland Tiger Moth in the background. I think it's a tricycle undercarriage, Simon Had a look through Eyre's book.... https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....87502f68ab.jpg |
Don't know about a TMM&THFM link bu there is another picture in different colours

Correct - apparently 27 built and over 1000 kits sold
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....cd12c2125e.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....84d0628982.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....9e747b3b9b.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....6ce7bfaa70.jpg |
Quick reaction.....!! Looks like the offspring of a mating between a Tipsy Nipper & an AA1 Yankee !!
|
Cheers!
Moving on - to a very well known aircraft. Wiki says nearly 2,000 built.... https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....14a963d70d.jpg |
Lets go wild
V tailed Bonanza? |

Not the Bonanza - Wiki says 17,000 built?! Much bigger aircraft. Military. |
Transport?
|
It is a great challenge Noyade :)
The only guess I can make at the moment is - North American T28 ? |
Longer Ron, think that's a good call.
|
In the unlikely event that T28 is the correct answer - I am afraid it will have to go to OH as I am away from home tomorrow.
